COD: Modern Warfare Dark Edition Confirmed, First Look at the Night Vision Goggles Included

Modern Warfare 2019 will have a "Dark Edition" that will include a real life Night Vision Goggle! Here's our first look at the unit.

Are they actually serious... first they reuse the name and now they reuse the collectors edition of modern warfare 2.

excaliburps2093d ago

It's a different kind though. It looks more compact and such. Plus it's part of the game as well since we'll get night maps.

Maybe because they want to regain interest from old fans that made Call of Duty so popular? I'm glad to see the direction they're going with this game.

Nitrowolf22093d ago

It’s a new model, sure it’s the same themed item but it’s not the same NVG that was released with 2. These ones look more better built IMO, functionality eh you get what you paid for

AnubisG2093d ago

I'd like to see a first look of the campaign. It kind of worries me that we are so close to the release yet haven't seen any of the campaign but seeing different editions that will be released instead.

Applejack2093d ago

Kind of odd to be surprised a game has a campaign isn’t it?

SkatterBrain2093d ago

it would be cool if games brainwashed kids and in each special edition they gave them tools for a massive uprising

SkatterBrain2093d ago

like the fallout helmet and pip boy and call of duty night vision goggles and rc car and when they have the whole set then they get the trigger word to start marching

Artemidorus2093d ago

All part of the money making scheme.

This franchise is proof you can't teach stupid and encouragement to people you can make money from fools.

PoSTedUP2093d ago

I agree the last several games were trash. But you'd be crazy to think old school fans aren't looking forward to this iteration and that it doesn't look great so far. NVG look pretty crazy imo too, i actually might get a pair if the price is right and they actually work.

Artemidorus2092d ago

It's the same the direction is nearly identical, they bring you in offer you many versions of the game you can buy then provide more content by way of paying regularly.

If you really want NVG and no idea why you would in a civilian world go and buy a decent set from websites.

Will be interesting to see what sort of numbers GP users draw in come tomorrow. It is believed that this is one many have been waiting for.

Darth,

That is not accurate; this game is old, and most people who want it have already bought it. You might get a small number of subs, but we will mostly see a good influx of players(not new subs) from people with Game Pass who will try it, which is what happened with D4.

CoD: BO 6 will be the test for actual sub numbers.

darthv72274d ago

That's fair... seeing as many have been saying they want CoD in GP. My comment was more of , now that its here... what can it do. Im sure there will be other titles in the franchise that will either entice or turn off different users.

No one's buying a console and signing up for a monthly bill just to get this game to avoid buying it. That's ridiculous. Besides everyone bagged the crap out of this on release for the 4 hour campaign.

andy85274d ago

Sweet. Never got round to it on release. I'll give the campaign a go

Severly underrated game. Big improvement over 2.

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
