Madden NFL 20 Review - CheatCC

For longtime players of the Madden NFL series, the conversation around each new annual release has shifted in recent years. As it has adapted to a world in which games as a service are the standard, it’s been less about enticing players to pick up the installment with flashy new modes and justifying its existence through the sheer length of its features list. Instead, it feels more like a major version update, offering new features to enhance what it’s already doing and trying its hardest to keep the core experience fresh and fun to play. Madden NFL 20 feels like the culmination of this effort, and the result is a game that doubles down on its existing appeal.

I thought the animations were sparse in 19. I read a review that the players don't even walk to the line in 20. I wonder what else they cut from the SP experience. Not to mention the screen shot of the stadium looks like almost every stadium, save for a few, in 19.

So far, it seems like a very expensive DLC.

I've played it and I'm a big football fan (American football, for those non-Americans).

Madden 20 is not good. Madden hasn't been good for over a decade and while there have been worse titles in that 10-15 years, Madden 20 still isn't good. It's definitely not a 4.3/5

That's a 8.6/10. No, no fn chance. It's a 6.5/10 game. It's not awful and it's better than Madden 19 but it's not a 4.3/5

Actually they took out a lot in this version, the animations are still bad and stiff, features that were taken out years ago still haven't made a come back. The new mode replaces the story mode, but you can only be a QB and go through college and the combine and such.

All the other things feel the same and all they really added new was star power where stars can now become even better than regular players and unlock additional skills if they're doing well. Even more insentive to keep buying those expensive card packages to get star players and gain that advantage in MUT.

Madden NFL 21 sales are up over last year’s game despite mixed reviews

Mixed reviews from critics do not seem to be dampening enthusiasm for Madden NFL 21. The game’s sell-through is up nearly 20 percent year-over-year in its first week compared to Madden NFL 20.

Of course not. They’ve turned the game into a gambling simulator because they know people get hooked. It’s a debilitating addiction and they should be ashamed.

Sadly, people still buy casino simulator "games" apparently. Covid probably helped up those sales too.

Saigon1323d ago

I assume the reason for this is because EA gave out several free versions of the game.

gamefreaks3651323d ago

They claim that the figure is based on sell-through.

they are talking about sales though, not how many people are playing

Saigon1322d ago

you do know companies can buy their own product? It happens all the time. so these sales could be attributed to EA buying their own product and distributing to people that have complained or requested a refund. I have seen several tweets where people asked for refunds and EA gave them the refund and a code to get the game for free. So this has nothing to do with 'how many people are playing'.

badboyz091323d ago (Edited 1323d ago )

wasn't it free on EA access for like 10hrs plus they give out doznes of free copies daily.

averagejoe261323d ago

it's not talking about people playing, it's talking about people who bought it.

badboyz091322d ago (Edited 1322d ago )

These are the hours played stats not sold copies. It says here 21 sold worse. EA just trying to cover it up. The brand not growing. It sells the same amount of copies to the same casuals.

That means Madden 22 will have even less content.
