Jordan Mychal Knows Nothing About The Order 1886 Sequel

Earlier today, reports had come in stating that the Order 1886 would indeed be getting a sequel. This was according to Sucker Punch's own narrative writer, Jordan Mychal, who stated during a recent podcast from what he had heard, Ready at Dawn were going to develop it. This statement has since been clarified, with the writing saying he knows nothing about the sequel.

There goes my hopes :(

Really hoping Sony gives it another chance, it may not have been a great game, but it certainly wasn't a horrible one. The series deserves a second chance IMO

ClayRules20121730d ago

Yeah, here’s hoping Sony gives another chance for a sequel too.

Regardless of some flaws,,I loved the game. The characters were interesting & likable, and the setting was a nice change. There’s so much potential here, I believe.

There's a lot of potential with The Order 1886; it was a good game with an interesting setting and tone. Was the cover-shooter game play the most compelling ever? No, but it was a solid shooter with a cool premise.

I'd like to see sequel.

abstractel1730d ago

Loved it, didn't like that it ended on a cliffhanger. Still one of the best looking games out there. Not just technically but the artistry of it all.

ClayRules20121730d ago

@abstractel
I’m glad to hear you loved it too. The cliffhanger...that was something. And I agree. Still one of the best looking games overall this generation. The artistry, was fantastic. Speaking of the visuals, the character models are incredible, but especially in some lighting (like the train tunnels with Isabelle & Galahad) I used photo mode when she walked past my lantern, and the detail on her face & hair, still unbelievable. Same with one I captured of that Indian woman in the tunnels.

Yes, this is the one game from the last twenty years that deserves an iteration more than any others. They've had great player feedback and could fix the issues people had with the game. I'd love to see a sequel to this.

rainslacker1729d ago

I thought the gun play itself was really well done. Cover was not amazing, but functional. Probably would have been better game play if the AI wasn't so scripted.

He's playing dumb. Never think that developers won't lie to us. They will to keep a project a secret.

ClayRules20121730d ago

@Orionsangel - Yeah, I think he’s playing dumb too. At least, I sure hope he is lol.

@SyntheticForm
I’m glad you enjoyed the game. And yeah, shooting was solid, and some of the weapons were rather unique in action. Appreciated that.

drunkenspy0071729d ago

Why do you want them to invest in not a great game?

blackblades1729d ago

Yeah, mattet fact been thinking of replaying it again.

Well that was short lived :/

Elda1730d ago

I'm guessing someone is lying...which could mean that this person made up that a sequel was being made or someone is trying to cover up the fact that it is being made by stating they know nothing about it when they do because they don't want the cat out the bag as of yet.

sampsonon1730d ago

think they are covering it up.

sampsonon1730d ago

@robtion: read this and tell me I'm wrong. it all makes sense now.

cover up https://www.playstationlife...

sander97021729d ago

It really makes no sense for Sony to just abandon such a good franchise idea.

OB1Biker1729d ago (Edited 1729d ago )

The backtracking is not convincing.
If true mistake then that sounds ignorant and not very bright

AK911730d ago

Not happening Ready at Dawn make VR games now and to be fair their VR games are AMAZING.

sampsonon1730d ago

https://www.playstationlife...

what a cover " hiring for a new AAA third person single player game."

Right lol

Inzo1730d ago (Edited 1730d ago )

As far as I know the IP belongs to Sony so the sequel doesnt have to be developed by Ready at Dawn though I would like for them to have another crack at it.
