After watching the gameplay of astral chains I am less inclined to want to play it. I don’t think it’s the type of game I thought it would be, and what I’ve been seeing is not looking to be my style. Trash collecting and pedestrian fetch quest feels like it’s going to have a lot of mundane task that will take me out of the core gameplay I want from it. This has gone from a system seller for me to a wait and watch.

I am in the same boat. Everyone is hyping it since its a switch exclusive done by the talent from nier. From what Ive seen....Im just not very convinced. Will just wait and see reviews and feedback with the full release.

The trailer had text only NPCs / side quests; no voice acting...

It’s funny that people really can’t get besides themselves to understand some people’s hype fades. I’m not saying the game looks bad, I’m just saying it doesn’t look like what I thought it would be. I expected an action titles similar to other platinum games like devastation or revegenace.

But this is something else, something I’m not willing to jump into right now until further development. When I do get the game I might love it, but as for now my hype has died from the showcases and that’s an okay thing.

This game looks very fun, I love that fact that you always have a partner with you in this game and you can't go wrong with Platinum's combat design.

After Devil May Cry 5, it has become harder to please the action hack and slash fans.

This game does not look impressive.

EddieNX 1818d ago

The game looks absolutely awesome . People who don't have a Switch 'it just doesn't look very impressive...'

Lexreborn21818d ago

So what you are saying is in order to think this game looks fun you have to have a switch? Or are you saying that it’s a prerequisite to think everything on switch is good BECAUSE you have a switch?

King_Noctis1818d ago (Edited 1818d ago )

You do know what he is implying. If you replace this game from “Nintendo exclusive” to “Sony exclusive”, the game would have been praised like the second coming of Jesus.

Lexreborn21818d ago

King_Noctis that’s not true at all, the vast majority of Nintendo games are looking good. However, there are some that just pulled people from the trailer before gameplay was revealed and now it’s not intriguing them anymore. That should be expected as even games like Days Gone had people dropping off

gangsta_red1818d ago

I don't have a Switch but I also think this game looks fantastic. This and that Daemon game has my complete interest.

King_Noctis1818d ago

Man I can’t wait for this game. Great games after great games for the Switch this year. We just had Mario Maker 2 and MUA 3, and soon we’ll get FE 3 Houses and this one.

Lying about the power of the "Ultra 64" ..promising an arcade 1:1 port of Killer Instinct and later just having a super poor SNES port of the game + a very gimped version of Killer Instinct 2.

Didnt buy a Nintendo Console since the gamecube, didnt regret it.

I'd say them opting to stick to carts for the N64 was probably their biggest blunder. Even more so than their back stabbing deal against Sony. It literally cost them their long time partnership with Square and the FF series. There was not a single FF (or DQ) title on the N64 when there had been ones on the NES and SNES. They came to their senses with the Cube and supported mini DVD so they at least got back into SE's good graces... but the damage was done and FF7 went on to be the biggest FF game and a huge win for PS.
