Xbox Kinects Are Allegedly Being Used as Surveillance Cameras

A New Jersey international airport is apparently using the Kinect as an unconventional security camera.

Guess it can be the last since they've been shredded so much this gen. All the other shreds are still there, and many people are still clinging to them. MS is trying to tape them all back together.

Was gonna say the same that at least they are getting some use lol. All joking aside I did like using the Kinect for voice commands. I usually say that Microsoft is good at making tech that is useful, just not useful for gaming. Like the Kinect and HoloLens, they have good applications outside of gaming, but within gaming, not so much.

"XBox, turn the volume up" actually worked. Even when i was playing PS4 it controlled my surround sound! I miss it lol Cortana is so awful that i actually dont even have the kinect plugged in anymore. I used it as a webcam on my PC for a little bit too, but even that was... you're better off with a real web-cam honestly

But yeah overall it was a glorified mic for me. Dance Central was awesome on 360 and i actually had them all with all the song exports, but on XB1 they really screwed it all up. The only good Kinect XB1 game i ever played was Fantasia

The thing with Kincec 1 and 2 was the tech is self was amaizng and what it can be used for outside of gaming nothing else comes close.

Now the Azure Kinect is out and the tech is also in Hololens it will be interesting to see where it ends up.
