Quartermann: Cliff Bleszinski's Next Game a Survival Horror Title?

Have you heard that the new issue of EGM is hitting mailboxes now, complete with a snazzy Watchmen cover story? Well, it is! And as with every issue of the number one videogame magazine, that means we've got another round of rumors to bring to your ears straight from the mysterious Quartermann.

With Gears of War 2 just about to officially hit stores tomorrow, most gamers are preparing to tackle this latest action hit from star Epic designer Cliff Bleszinski. Not the Q-Mann, though; he lives in the future, and in the future he's already gathered word of Bleszinski's next project: a survival-horror game. Though we don't have a name or any solid details yet, Quartermann reports that the new title will mix the bloody visceral elements of Gears of War with psychological terror. And even more interesting, this one may be multi-platform.

I see Survival Horror is going to become the next big thing just as Zombies was once the biggest thing with a release of Resident Evil, Oneechanbara as well as a variety of others. Should be interesting to see in the coming months.

I can that LBP thing happening.. the amount of different games u cud make is amazing... they cud easily do a LBP kart title where you build levels ad ur karts.. etc... just a thought

As for CliifB's title... i dunno... Gears + horror just seeems like GEars with more dark areas.. thats what it sounds like.. not a bad thing but I see it ending up like RESI and Doom.... no horrors just blasting everything

Actually a kart LBP would be quite nice, perhaps an Add-on to the current LBP? As they already give you cars, and with a bit of tweaking it could be quite an interesting game worth playing. perhaps having 1v1 all the way to 8v8 (with teams of 4 in one kart and another team of 4 within' another.)

I must say LBP is becoming what is Mario to Nintendo, it really is good and being that the sackboy and girl are not fixated with just one luck as mario is their is so much variety they could do with the game and later titles.

What does this news have to do with fraking LBP? So tired of hearing about that boring azz looking game already. Oh and it's not even close to a Mario level so please drop it already. If you like it then fine but stop smearing every thread with this hype for a game that will end up like the wii and not be played but a couple of times.

Back on topic: This could be good and definitely something I want to hear more about. Hopefully it doesn't end up like Gears because at 1st I thought that Gears was going to be survival horror.

I was simply answering him, I already made my post to Cliff B's statement/thought/rumor whatever you might have it, and it is becoming like Mr. M. Direct the anger toward Sinncross as he brought it up though I was only furthering it :p.

Back on to the topic answering it further:
Would another survival horror really be best, their are quite a few already out and still feel this is going the way of zombies and such. I suppose you either hate it or love it (The fact that this genre is picking up.) Though the question still stands (and is just an honest question) Is it really best to have a lot of Survival-Horrors coming out?

His next game might involve 15 year old boys >.<

thereapersson4053d ago

I was going to post something like that in the Open Zone...

You just had the balls to do it in the gamer zone.

ArtisianDragon4053d ago

Oh my gosh...people are going to be hung up on this it seems ever since that story came out :p

thereapersson4053d ago

Why not? It explains why he is intent on creating games with macho, muscular space-marines. He's just living out his homoerotic fantasies...

ArtisianDragon4053d ago

Well this has given me a good laugh for the day, I know that much, wonder how this survival horror would look then...
