In 2004, Square Enix released a prequel to Final Fantasy VII called Before Crisis. If you haven't heard of it, there's a reason why: The mobile title was a Japanese exclusive and has never made its way to North America. However, that hasn't stopped people from doing their best to translate the game into English and make it playable.
With Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion just around the corner, questions have started to be asked about whether Square Enix will be taking a similar approach to both Dirge of Cerberus and Before Crisis.
I mean Before Crisis never left japan and was a phone game. A western "release" only happened a couple of years ago when a group of fans translated and remake the thing in RPG maker. While Dirge of Cerberus definitely has its fans but is at the very least a flawed third-person shooter.
It would be interesting seeing those games being remade and personally I'm much more into remakes of bad/mediocre games. But the chances of us seeing those are super slim.
Don't need it. Same could be said about dirge. Although I'd like to see a western company experienced in shooters do a remake of dirge. If a well done shooter, it could be pretty cool. Well that and dirge takes place after the compilation so we'd have to wait til the end of the remake games to know if it could exist.

Crysis Core on PSP was fantastic, and I'd love to see that redone on next-gen systems. It's pretty clear that FF7 is one of the more loved storylines that they created and they know that, so why not capitalize on that? They are running a business after all.
They have been capitalizing on that though for years, other FF games deserve some love aswell you know, otherwise it's just going to feel like we're being suffocated. If you are making a remake of VII then your spin off could be other FF titles to keep things fresh so when FFVII Part II comes out you won't end up feeling sick of the VII Universe.
Least give us a prequel / sequel / animated film / remake of something FFVI, VIII or IX related

This sounds more like it’ll be a Crisis Core Remaster. I doubt it’ll be a Remake or it could be a mobile game spin off. Hell, it could be a book or anime short. Who knows with Square?
To be fair the world of FF7 lends it to more opportunities for spin-offs than any of the other installments. Maybe you could do more with FF 15, but not sure many people would want that.

7 is milked a lot maybe, but as a result the fun factor out of it is the best comparing to that boring XIII and lame Dissidia.
They should have ported Crisis Core to a console by now I love that game especially when the FF7 remake came out on the PS4 help build up that hype. Come on Square port it it would be day one for me this news has even peaked my interest.

i didn't even know this existed. I'm tempted to play it even though it looks archaic.
Playing through FF7 on Ps4 right now going for the platinum. Man I never thought I'd be able to play this game again due to the grind and adult time requirements, etc. The 3X and Boost options make the game a breeze as they majorly cut back on grind time. I'm having a blast but it got me thinking about Crisis Core a lot and whether they will ever bring that back out. I forgot all about this one. Might be worth a look.
