All the writers are Polish, the original script is written in Polish, then it all gets adapted to English – Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Director says.
Atomic Heart studio Mundfish announces its next venture, Mundfish Powerhouse, a publishing label aimed at helping the smaller developers of the gaming industry.
10 million players for Atomic Heart, nice!
Does this mean we might see an Atomic Heart 2? Crispy Critters!
It's on GP. 10 million players and a made another studio? So Did Gamepass help or contribute in making another studio for them? I know its on other platforms which also helped their new venture.
10 million? Hard to believe for a game with only 400 people playing this game currently and a all time peak of only 37k on PC. Is the difference in popularity of this game on console and PC really that big?
Well done Mundfish, I had a fun time with this game... apart from the 2nd dlc. Great world building, a solid storyline and Bioshock style gameplay. Looking forward to what comes next.
Playtonic has officially announced they had to let some of their staff go; ask that other developers offer them a position if possible.
Layoffs are always sad but in this case, it makes sense? They've only developed two games of their own and their third is a remake of the first that's been taking a very long time. I can't imagine there's much revenue flowing in to sustain them
It's sad, I was hoping they'd be super successful with how fun Yooka-Laylee was despite being rough around the edges. However they did only 2 games and the 3rd game is a remake, I was kind of expecting a proper Yooka-Laylee 2 by now.
I wish they were allowed to make Banjo-Threeie
Xbox's handheld ambitions continue unabated, but the focus is shifting towards improving Windows 11 for third-party handhelds — for now. The Xbox Series X 'Melrose' successor is safe, with development continuing at full pace.
Funny to see the alt already damage controlling and having a meltdown with multiple accounts in the comments already.
Sad for MS if true, a dedicated handheld would go down a lot better than a rog ally 2 with an Xbox sticker on it I think.
This is news? CD Projekt are Polish... Why would it not be written in their native language?
Yeah the Witcher books were also written in Polish, and I imagine the games were too. Odd thing to make an article about.
Kind of stating the obvious, like saying Kojima wrote the MGS scripts in Japanese. What is the point?
This is a no sh*t story and even if it was the other way around it still wouldn't be news.
It's news, I guess, because the source (gamepressure.com) is a Polish website (not to mention (still?) being a company wholy owned by CD Projekt group). So the news is more directed at Polish people.
Kinda like "Hey! We're big dogs out there in the world now, but still we didn't forget where we came from, so we did Cyberpunk 2077 in Polish first, just for you."
Poland, after being relieved from official Soviet/Russian rule & propaganda in 1989, has been since under heavy propaganda from the other side. So today, here it's still mostly "Western is better", "Eastern (& often Polish too) is made-by-peasants and crappy" "It's better to label products 'made in EU' than 'made in Poland' " etc.
In that light, I guess, gamepressure (thus CD-Projekt) decided that it's important to go out there and say: "CD-Projekt is AAA and still isn't afraid to make it for 'us' 1st, for the rest of the world later" or "CD Projekt isn't ashamed to say 'made in Poland' ".
