It just means Banjo & Kazooie are in SSB, that’s it. Just because a guest character is included in the roster doesn’t mean it’s the sign of some grand plan to come. Haven’t we been through this multiple times already?

- Solid Snake’s inclusion in SSBB didn’t mean a Metal Gear game would come to Wii
- Mega Man’s inclusion in SSB4 didn’t mean a Mega Man game would come to Wii U
- Pac-Man’s inclusion in SSB4 didn’t mean Pac-Man 256 or Pac-Man Ultimate Championship Edition 2 would come to Wii U
- Ryu’s inclusion SSB4 didn’t mean a Street Fighter game would come to Wii U
- Cloud’s inclusion in SSB4 didn’t mean a Final Fantasy game would come to Wii U
- Joker’s inclusion in SSBU didn’t mean Persona 5 proper was already being planned to release on NS

We’ve seen time and time again how a guest character can be revealed yet not much else came as a direct result of it. Anytime an installment from that guest character’s franchise does come to a Nintendo platform it’s an independent decision made at a later date by the third party publisher and developer themselves.

“He’s the lovable bear with a bird sidekick that has made his way to Smash Bros. alongside his longtime friends Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and King K. Rool”

I’d hardly label King K Rool as Banjo & Kazooie’s friend anymore than I’d label Grunty as Donkey Kong & Diddy’s friend. Closest you could say is that Krunch was Diddy & Banjo’s friend at one point.

“Does this mean that the Banjo Kazooie series will get a remaster soon?”

That already happened in 2008 & 2009.

“Based on the reactions of former Rare Employees, including Grant Kirkhope, they don’t sound like they or Microsoft making a new Banjo game.”

Indeed. I don’t trust modern Rare with any remake of the series. It was even 4J Studios, not Rare, that handled the remasters for Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, & Perfect Dark. Modern Rare can’t be trusted to handle their own classic series properly outside of ports.

Not even Playtonic can make a game that could be received as well as Banjo-Kazooie in its prime.

Hopefully a Banjo Kazooie game from Retro Studios hell I wouldn't even mind if it was a 2.5D game like DCKR
