I hope it’s not as bad as this reviewer’s experience. My copy is on the way, and now I wish I just got the PS4 version. 😔

I will probably just exchange it.

I backed this thing on kickstarter. Got the physical edition for PS4 and a digital copy for my Switch. This is the first I have heard of any problems, so I wouldn't necessarily take one person's experience and suddenly label it as commonplace.

That's good to hear Neonridr, have you tried it yourself on Switch yet?

I picked it up for PS4 anyway, but it's the kind of game I'd like to take on holiday with me on Switch in the summer.

@LoveSpuds - after doing some digging it appears I had it backwards. I have the Switch physical copy (which is in transit and should be with me in a few days) and I have the PS4 digital version. Sadly I can't install it on my Switch yet to try it out. But there's a framerate video on this site that shows it's basically locked in docked and minus a hiccup here or there it's very stable in handheld mode too. Sure it won't look as good as the PS4/XB1 but I would hardly call the Switch version ugly going off that video.

The graphic aren't the issue for me, its the alleged "5 sec frame lockups"
and the "10 sec input lag" thats mentioned in this article, that frightens me.

I don't understand why Switch would struggle with this game.

mikeslemonade21d ago

Another reason why the Switch should get zero third party games.

I'm playing at 4k 60 Extreme on PC.

Careful, people will downvote you just because Switch is bae. lol Its a toy console, like those kiddy computers that say the COW goes MOO!

iplay1up221d ago

Let's see you play Breath Of The Wild, Smash and MK8 sitting outside in the middle of no where with your PC. Nitwit, it isn't meant to be a PC. It also isn't priced as one. By the way, I am in my 40s. Been a gamer my whole life. Consoles are easier and I don't have to upgrade constantly. My X1X plays games nicely and look fantastic on my 4K 65 inche HDR TV. So do my Switch games! For only weighing 10.4 ounces and being over 2 years old, can put out some great looking games.

Or you could just wait a few days/weeks for the incoming patch. If playing on the go was indeed your primary reason to purchase it for the Switch

Too bad. After seeing it on PS4 Pro, I was worried about the Switch version. The game plays great, but it feels like it is using lots of processing power. It is just a feeling I get when seeing the game save and swap screens, that is was using more resources than it looked like it should. That said, the game is great and runs great on PS4 Pro at least. I even love the graphics, and that surprised me. The use of lighting is great.

Which is why Im pissed that Hollow Knight Silksong is console exclusive to Switch at launch. I never play portable so I rarely get multiplats for Switch. You tend to pay more money for the worst performing version.

Sgt_Slaughter20d ago

Hollow Knight Silksong will sell the best on Switch, why be pissed? It makes total sense.

lellkay21d ago

Damn! I had the choice of all formats, but fancied having on Switch so I could play on my lunch breaks! hope they patch up any issues!

micdagoat1921d ago

exactly only reason I wanted it for switch

awdevoftw21d ago

I read a couple months ago that there were issues with the switch version. Hope it gets resolved for those that bought it. It's a great game.
