Destructoid: “It's $20: the price of the entire original trilogy on other platforms.
Far be it from me to tell you how to spend your cash though, as double/triple-dipping is a respectable angle if you really enjoy something, especially for a portable version of the original. Just be aware that Capcom is strangely experimenting with pricing when it comes to re-releases on Switch, and their strategy is all over the place!”
With the release of the Devil May Cry series on Netflix, we take a moment to look back on this almost 20-year-old series and let you know the best of the best.
"Devil May Cry 2 isn’t trash. It’s just misunderstood by a fanbase that doesn’t like change."
This and putting DMC 2 number 2 is all I need to ignore this ranking. DMC2 is absolute trash and it's clear this person doesn't understand exactly why.
Sales of games in the Devil May Cry franchise have surged as a result of the new anime adaptation's success. DMC 4, DMC 5, and the DMC HD Collection have all reentered Steam's Global Top Sellers. Devil May Cry 5's player count jumped from around 2,000 concurrent players to just over 13,500 players in the span of a few days. Devil May Cry 4 and the Devil May Cry HD Collection have also seen similar sales boosts in the past week.
The success of the Devil May Cry anime adaptation—and to a lesser extent, the Onimusha TV series—serves as early proof the company's multimedia expansion strategy in action, showcasing how Capcom is leveraging its game IPs beyond consoles and into streaming platforms.
Lol, well... Better late than never, I suppose. It's a wonderful series. Devil May Cry V was truly something special (despite my small nitpick on the overuse of one particular level.) I still think it's probably the best action game ever made. Not sure if I'll check out the anime but I've been rocking with the games since the start of the series.
Deserved, DMC is peak hack and slash, and despite it's awareness, the sales numbers should be higher imo for what it does.
I really was expecting to hate this show with Nero voicing Dante and all the changes they made, but cringe forced cussing aside, I really enjoyed the hell out of it.
I am guilty as of yesterday lol I bought the HD collection on Playstation and the definitive edition of DmC for 20 bucks yesterday. Granted, I already own them on PC and Physically and just wanted a convenient spot because I was planning on doing a sit down at the TV playthrough with my son.
Then I realized I could just use my Asus rog(offline mode) and Steamdeck we play our own games at the same time. And I give him tips as we play through them. I will likely do DmC on the PS4 though because that doesn't play the best on steamdeck. Otherwise we would play in my office on my ps5 pro or gaming desktop. That is to cluttered though....
Anyways, I'm super excited to go home and play DMC1 with my son tonight!
Dante's voice actor seems to have spilled the beans on Devil May Cry 6, teasing Capcom's next major project for the franchise.
He just misspoke and said 6 instead of 5 when talking about the game after the failed reboot.
The real leak/tease is the vergil voice actor saying he voiced Vergil recently and had to voice him younger.
That is the problem with 3rd parties taking the mick on switch.
A game that came out almost 20 years ago should not be priced €20.
Here in france switch prices are always €10 or more for the switch version
Example(Amazon prices):
Resident evil origin collec €69 sw €20 ps4
Dark souls remastered €32 switch €23 ps4
Doom €45 switch €15 ps4
Witcher 3 €60 switch €20 ps4.
Assassin's creed 3 €39 switch €29 ps4.
Final fantasy 12 re €40 switch €20 ps4
Wolfenstein 2 €46 switch €15 ps4
Skyrim €55 switch €23 ps4
.... Etc
Basically they ask more for a weakest version of the same game.
Shame on them.
