Hideo Kojima has furthered speculation that a new Ape Escape game could be announced soon, with a potential remaster or a brand new game perhaps set to be announced to mark the series' 20th anniversary.
Dont play with me on this, Ape Escape is one of my most beloved series
Never played it but I’ve heard it was one of the best platformers ever made at the time. Hopefully this is what Bluepoint Games has been working on.
It is. Amazing game
I would certainly agree with that statement. I absolutely adore the series.
the 1st one was one of the best platforms of all time
Metal Gear rising... Now that's a series I want to see again
I can't bear my feelings being toyed with like this. I won't get excited until an official announcement is made. I've been burned before with this franchise on the PS3.
Please be a main game, not a mini spin-off. Glad Kojima is not with Knoami anymore, I'd though it would be a pachinko machine.
Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding were merely prototypes for making the Ape Escape engine.
Like for the giggle and originality
This comment deserves everything
Ape Escape is returning
Yeah it has to be! They can't be teasing like this for no reason. With all the highly successful remakes we have had this gen it has to be real!
I'd definitely be ok with either a new game, or remake.
I feel like Ape Escape is to PlayStation fans what Battletoads is to Xbox fans. An overly longed for and romanticized IP that in reality was never as good as fans remember it.
Nah, Ape Escape was a great title and Ape Escape 2 was a bona fide classic. Have you ever played them chief?
Actually, Ape Escape means something to PS users. Battletoads means nothing to XB users.
NES was not an Xbox. And no unlike Battletoads which I have always said was trash. Ape Escape was genuinely great.
Sony has nothing to show that’a why they skipped E3 Sony: yes, but actually no!
They saving it up everything for a PS5 tease conference and main conference which is wise since PS5 is around the corner.
if Ape Escape is launching the PS5, I'm gonna pre-order the PS5 as soon as it's available!
They said something along the lines of crouching low so they can jump much higher. I'm no Sony whisperer, but I think that means they have always had things to show, but have held back so when they choose to share (whether or not that is E3), it's going to be huge. I'm really thinking they skipped showing Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II because they want to have them at the PS5 reveal to show what the hardware's boost mode can accomplish over PS4 Pro.
Playstation Experience is where its all going to go down and its going to be amaising.
I thought Playstation Experience got cancelled?
I recently spend way over the odds for a complete copy of Ape Escape on PS1 and much to my frustration, I have no way of playing it. I run my PS2 through a HDMI converter and this specific game runs at a resolution that is incompatible with a HDMI converter on a modern TV. No problem I thought, I'll play it on my PS3.....there is a known bug where the controller doesnt work for Ape Escape on PS3 so I am knackered 😖 I had to move straight onto AE2 instead, so a remaster of the 1st game sure would be appreciated.
Perhaps try an emulator?
Ape Escape VR
Why not it would be a perfect game to introduce next gen VR controller same as it did for the DualShock controller
A VR mode would be fine, but not to mandate VR only! I don't want a gimmick-game. Just give me a damn traditional platformer with standard controls from previous Ape Escape games. Don't try to reinvent the concept of Ape Escape especially after being on hiatus for so long. Just me give a traditional Ape Escape game on my 1080p HDTV and that's that! Anything less and there's going to be endless complaints. Remember what happened to Ape Escape On the Move? Very few people wanted it, and Sony acted as if the series held no value anymore for nearly a decade! Don't make the same mistakes twice.
I completely agree. I have a PSVR and would adore a new Ape Escape in VR. However, this franchise is too important to leave all non-VR owners on the sidelines. I think a new or remastered game with a fun VR mode (swingin’ the Moves around to catch those monkeys) would be ideal and keep everyone happy. I had Ape Escape On the Move and it was kinda lame. It didn’t seem to have that magical quality the other Ape Escape games did. OR… Why not design a game that can be played w/ or w/o VR like RE7?
Sony : Hideo San how you would like be part of the PlayStation family. Kojima: can I make Ape Escape? Sony: Say no more.
So it may not be an Ape Escape remake but doing an MGS2 thing where they appear in Death Stranding as a joke right? Don't. I need a remake.
This seems like a possibility because of the resurgence of 90s 3D platformers. Ape Escape was a part of my childhood and I welcome it into my adult life
please be a new game! the monkeys and its personalities, the landscapes, the gadgets pure magic in my memories :)
I hope so
oh man such a happy go lucky game, so much good vibes.
Release it and I'm there
Dont toy with me Hideo!
Ape Escape 1 was my first dual shock game with 2 analog sticks. Such fun and simple times!! Great game!
The first game compatible with the dualshock controller back then on ps1.
Hopefully, it's a full game, and not just a mode in Death Stranding. The way that they put skateboarding in MGS2.
A new Kojima Ape Escape?! Sony should definitely let him have it if true. It could be interesting, I can see an over bloated plot involving apes that have been experimented on by aliens claiming to be God, set loose on mankind to help but in reality enslave their inner spirits to another plane of existence. All the while an atheist group who are out to kill them are actually trying to save mankind led by a clone of Gaia, the spirit of mother earth. The main protagonist would be played by Andrew Garfield with the lead actress as Alicia Vikander. I say bring it on.
My body; ready, hair; freshly spiked, stunsaber and capture net; check and check.
