Monster Hunter: World creators are totally cool with Monster Hunter-like games

Dauntless certainly isn’t the first game to try to capture the magic of beating up giant monsters. There are lots monster-hunter-a-likes, including God Eater, Toukiden, and Soul Sacrifice.

The maker of Monster Hunter World is completely accepting of the fact other games are borrowing from the series.

And speaking of monster hunter like games, really wish there was a new Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice game.

There is something to be admired about your competitors. They may have a similar winning formula, but may have made some tweeks to make it even better. It can be lonely at the top, but it can also be a spot easily traded and have you clamoring to get there again when someone else steps up and performs.

Because they know they are the best at what they do. Tried Dauntless, while it's nice for a free game, it gaves me the motivation to come back to MHW :)

A Late Look: Monster Hunter: World

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "While it was a mixed pleasure overall - at times exhilarating, at others agonizing - I would have to say I enjoyed my time with Monster Hunter: World and found it to be surprisingly addicting. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that I was surprised by how little had changed from previous titles, given how this particular entry took the series to unheard levels of popularity, but while it retains both positives and negatives from them, at the very least it’s a stellar-looking game that brings more freedom to the hunt than any of its predecessors (Monster Hunter Rise could possibly be a different story, but that, my friends, is a game for another article)."
