Microsoft Sounds Open to Remastering Double Fine's Back Catalog of Games

Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty mentioned that Microsoft's acquisition of Double Fine could allow them to bring forward some of the developer's past work.

I'd like a sequel to Brutal Legends it is still a great game

I would prefer a reboot. The game had a ton of potential. Great world and lore, great characters, great art style. But the gameplay just didn't work well. Driving around was fine, the fighting was fine. It was the weird RTS stuff that didn't work. I still loved the game, but it could have been so much better.

I'd love if they could reboot it, and focus on the open world action. Remove the RTS stuff. And bring back Jack Black.

doesnt EA games hold some kind of rights to that game though? that would prevent Micro$oft from using the name

This should already be a foregone conclusion, really. The Xbox One doesn't even have Grim Fandango Remastered, Full Throttle Remastered, and other remasters like PS4 & PC do.

Great Idea! Put them on Nintendo Switch as well, as Xbox Live titles...would be amazing.

I'd love to see Microsoft work out a deal with Disney to buy the rights to the old LucasArts games, because I don't see Disney planning on using them ever again. I understand some people wouldn't like that, because then those games would be exclusive to the Xbox brand and PC, but I'd prefer to have a chance playing them again, over never again.
