Microsoft cuts internal original content creators and producers at Inside Xbox and Mixer

The affected positions appear to be at Inside Xbox and Mixer with heavy implications that Microsoft is moving away from internal original content creation.

That didn’t take long.

Inside Xbox was a bad format and lasted way to long with little content worth showing.

DaDrunkenJester2198d ago

Yep, they need to remake it into something short, sweet and to the point like Nintendo and Sonys.

As far as the mixer thing they probably were only doing that to help Mixer take off better with more content. Mixer seems to be growing so no need to have their own creators doing it.

indysurfn2197d ago (Edited 2197d ago )

Hmmmm it is a good move for them. This way they will have less hands on. On the other hand Nintendo did the opposite bringing all their houses in house and did not Micro manager the teams.

Sony has been mostly Individual studios. BUT they also have inhouse, except they don't Micro manage teams into screwing up. Either way I think Microsoft should keep as many developers on hand as they can. until the system launch is over.

DaDrunkenJester2197d ago

@Indy

What are you taking about? They aren't releasing any developers...

nibblo2197d ago

They do that already by cutting the show into small clips about specific things and releasing them seperately. You can either watch the entire show or just watch things you are interested in - best of both worlds

sprinterboy2197d ago

I have to say I only ever watched 1 and that was uninteresting tbh.

Zeref2197d ago

i don't think Inside Xbox is dead lol, they're probably changing up the format. Shame though I loved Rukari(thought he was gonna replace Major Nelson eventually) and Kate Yeager

Sciurus_vulgaris2198d ago

Inside Xbox was cringe; it focused far too heavily on advertising gamepass.

Sounds like their E3 conference.

Nu2197d ago

Sprinter boy basically asked for that disagree so I have it

How is GamePass more relevant to PC gamers when 95% of the GamePass titles aren't on PC GamePass?

Once again, Microsofts inexperience and disconnection in the gaming industry always working the Balmer Philosophy: If you can't beat em copy them to compete with them. Microsoft have never been and will never lead the market in innovation, the company has never been that way, Bill Gates himself encouraged imitation and dipping your hands into everything and just doing what the competition does, as a result Microsoft will forever be behind and never the industry leader. So it's the same story over and over. Microsoft hires the frat nerds that got drunk all the time in college versus the Japanese student that worked throughout the night and the end product shows.

YodaCracker2198d ago (Edited 2198d ago )

Microsoft has the highest market cap of any company in the world. They are currently the only trillion dollar company. So whatever they’re doing seems to be working.

Jin_Sakai2198d ago (Edited 2198d ago )

Because making money means you’re doing everything right. Great thinking.

THC CELL2197d ago

Sony has less money then ms and sells more consoles and had better gaming independant gaming unit so money not everything

Potnoodle9992197d ago

Haha yh because what we always care about is how much money a company makes, not the quality of their products! Jesus Christ....

Dragonscale2197d ago

But microsoft makes lots of money is such a great argument lol.

ApocalypseShadow2197d ago

Don't show me the money. Show me the games. All that money should be delivering them.

Yi-Long2197d ago

I'm a gamer.

I can't play Microsoft's money on my XBO.
I need games to play on my XBO.

So Microsoft doing well is really nice for Microsoft, but I, as a gamer, just care about what games are releasing on their console, and if those are good/interesting enough to spend my time and money on ...

TheRacingX2197d ago

You people are hilarious, ALL companies are in business to MAKE MONEY! If you people think Sony cares more about gamers than making money you better put the pipe down. If Sony was given the option to can its gaming division to have a trillion dollar market cap , they would sign the deal on Kaz Hirai's semi warm body....MS is a copy company, but they're business philosophy is different from how the gaming world was run. MS is slowly learning that it MUST listen to what their consumers want, not TELL them what they need and shove it down their throat. Sony tried that with the launch of the PS3 and it backfired badly. MS abandoned games immediately if they did not sell well out of the gate, they need to stick with them and give them updates and content, this is a part of their problem...but they are learning.... while Sea of Thieves may not be everyones cup of tea, it has come light years from where its started and is far more fun to play. Next gen will be won by who listens to its consumers more and gives them what they are asking for.....

SublimeStylee22197d ago

I dont care about Microsoft's money. It means nothing to me when they are not using it to provide stellar 1st party exclusives. If anything it is a clear sign of mismanagement if a trillion dollar company cant produce results.

You might have a point somewhere hidden under the poor use of all those never and always statements. Then there is the (possibly racist) inappropriate stereotype description. Lastly, can you say MS Windows OS, MS Office Suite, and lastly their most successful innovation MS Business Enterprise section. Those three innovative pillars built the foundation that has supported the entire industry.

Legacy2122197d ago

So are we just going to ignore all the things Sony copied from Microsoft and all the things Sony copied from Nintendo? Lool Sony but out of all 3 companies Sony is probably the least innovative

DaDrunkenJester2197d ago

All companies have copied other companies ideas at some point. Sony has copied plenty of MS and Nintendo ideas and vice versa. Its the nature of the beast. MS had a good last gen, but they failed to capitalize on that market momentum by shooting themselves in the foot with the xbox one. No reason why they can't earn back market share if they keep moving forward like that are now.

And even if they don't have the top in sales, they are apparently still making a shit ton of money off of their services and such.

Unspoken2197d ago

Neomahi, please pass that craziness around for everyone else to smoke. None of what you said is factual.

WalkerFTW2197d ago

Sounds like someone didn't get hired at Microsoft when they applied

Dark SNES Games Not Made For Kids

As consoles go, the SNES has quite the family friendly image. But, just like a Pizza Hut when you look at its hygiene rating or taste its pizza or breathe inside a restaurant, it’s not always good for everyone.

The golden age. No ESRB*. No ratings at all. It was glorious.

*I know the ESRB was formed by the industry to prevent others from stepping in and taking control.

Cyberpunk 2077 finally hit that sweet sale price for me so I went ahead and picked it up. I just started playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 though so it’ll be a while before I delve into Night City. Looking forward to it though.
