DSOGaming writes: "YouTube’s ‘Keru’ has shared a video, showing 34 minutes of gameplay footage from the closed beta phase of the upcoming Zelda: BOTW-inspired JRPG, Genshin Impact. While this is beta footage (meaning that it does not reflect the quality of the final product), it will give you an idea of how this new JRPG looks and plays."

Visually it looks better than BOTW in every single way. I don't understand how those disgusting washed out colors made it from BOTW's alpha previews all the way to the retail game.

Looking forward to this. It's also easily the best looking mobile game ever made. Will mostly play it on PC though. Nice to see Chinese developers pushing boundaries on mobile.

well naturally a PC game is going to look better when resolution goes as high as 4K and framerate could be uncapped. That's a silly thing to say. That being said, everything looks almost too sharp here, like the main character isn't actually in that world. There's something to be said about soft lighting and shading that the Switch employed which gives it a more calming and smooth feel rather than this.

Yes ^^
I feel botw manages to capture that wonderful Miyazaki atmosphere.

Indigon1827d ago

I think Nintendo looked very closely at the PlayStation titles from Ueda. It's very similar in graphical atmosphere.

Vits1827d ago

That would be hard, this company have never dealt with consoles and there aren't many of those in China anyway. But who knows, maybe if people make enough noise.

Vits1827d ago

You may also get a Nvidia Shield TV if don't really like to play on computers. As that is sort of console and will most likely play this game.

Shadow of the Colossus inspired BOTW, and I'm glad this game continues it's legacy.

Segata1827d ago

Climbing bosses was planned for OoT but N64 memory didn't allow it. So the boss was recycled in Metroid Prime 2 and Mario Galaxy. As for barren world setting. Original Zelda predates SOTC.

telekineticmantis1827d ago

I can't comment on rumors, only what I saw/see. I saw SOTC mechanics, and Ruins filled settings, and now I see BOTW mechanics and Ruins filled settings.

Segata1826d ago

How is the original Zelda a rumor? Are you too young to have played it? Also, many games have had ruins. Ys did in 1986.

"Yoshiaki also worked as character designer on Ocarina of Time and stated that they were playing around with an idea where they wanted to have Ganon be an enormous creature that would act as the boss arena as well as the boss itself. Much like in Shadow of the Colossus, players would have to scale a giant Ganon. "

N64 didn't have enough RAM to do it. The idea was re-used for Spinna Leg in Mario Galaxy

telekineticmantis1826d ago

Are you still talking to me, or someone else? Who said anything about the Original Zelda? And what are you quoting, you just put quotation marks around a paragraph?

Many games have ruins, but not also Climbable enemies and environments that allow you to discover new areas in an open world. Even Calamity Ganon looks like the Dark Shadowy spirit of Dorwin.

Plus Eiji Aonuma credited Ico for some of his inspiration in the Past.

King_Noctis1827d ago (Edited 1827d ago )

“Inspired” is a kind word here. This is almost a direct ripoff of BOTW down to the basic like food crafting and grass.

mkis0071827d ago

Well it is by a chinese company so it's kinda par for the course.

addictedtochaos1827d ago

It doesn’t look bad, and if it comes to consoles I’ll certainly give it a try. That said, even the menu screens look ripped from Breath of the Wild.
