From Cinelinx: Thanks to a product listing update on a gaming accessory site, it looks like a new version of the Nintendo Switch, a "mini" has been accidentally revealed.
the cat could be out of the bag now..
Just checked...the kitty is still in there. Just gave him some food.
Looks like shit to me.. People want a more advanced version, not Switch basic... Why Call it switch then? Just call it gameboy xxl
@bouzebbal - some people would prefer a traditional handheld without some of the extra features. This gives them a more cost effective Switch model.
Bouzebbal, Should call it the 1SSXXL-lite+
lol ...3DS-2 the sequel .....Nintedo again try to grab some cheap money with the continuation of a cheap 3-game-only-machine
But now the name is stupid. It doesn't "switch" into anything. It's basically a Gameboy, like bouzebbel said.
@naruga - grow up dude..
@bouzebbal Yeah calling it Game Boy XXL is a great marketing idea! "Where are the Game Boy XXL games?" "It plays Switch games. They are over here" "But it's not a Switch it's a Game Boy XXL" "No the Game Boy XXL IS a switch" "Does it play Game Boy games?" "No" "But it's called a Game Boy!" That would happen constantly in a retailer.
Would be nice if Nintendo released a powerful console for a change Zelda with today's cutting edge tech would look stunning
Their will be a Switch “Pro”. That has been leaked as well. But screw this Switch Poor version.
Looks like this youtube guy was right again! He predicted it over 6 months ago, and again two months ago. see this video https://www.youtube.com/wat... He even started the rumor of it being a hybrid months before the SWITCH reveal. If you search his Channel he has videos on the PRO's release DATE.
@indysurfn Sorry but the guy you are watching hasn't started any rumors. Switch being hybrid, and switch pro/mini was leaked info well before he made videos about them. Also, that video you linked makes no sense. Both features do not gain any additional functionality by adding in a Switch mini/pro. Its not like they go from useless features to features that magically make sense with the new systems. They make just as much sense without any new systems.
The cat is in the bag and the bag is in the river
This was a fan mockup posted on neogaf 2 years ago https://www.neogaf.com/thre...
The page even still works at the moment. Lol Probably going to be officially announced soon kinda like what went down with the New 3DS. A week or so after E3 Nintendo announced the latest model after saying there weren't any plans for a new one.
Yeah, the fact it's coming from an official game accessory seller (that's been in operation for nearly 20 years) is what really sells this for me. So crazy, and what a big OOPS!
I'll believe it when it's officially announced, so until then: Mockups. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ECL_...
Not disagreeing, but this specific leak is from a gaming company that's made accessories and worked with companies since 2000...If they posted them on their site, then there's a better chance it's legit.
I wouldn't disagree with your point either, but I can't help but be skeptical about any "leaks" or slip-ups in this day and age.
Yeah remember some of those accessories that "leaked" before Switch was hown. Those were fake as well from some unknown Chinese company. Ever since Foxconn and leaked iphone screens which were real, it's been easy for fakes like this pop-up.
What's wrong with you two! You seem to have a normal conversation without disagreeing with each other! ;)
Looks awful... But then again, the Switch doesn't exactly look great either.
It's prob not going to look like that
Then again it is targeting kids
For not liking Nintendo you sure do invest a lot of time into complaining about and saying you're over them...
I agree, the game shown is super Mario party, a game you cannot play without switch controllers.
I just want a Switch Pro. Edit: Does the Switch Mini not have a capture button?
I mean you can see it in the photo.
no you cant lol theres a home, + and - but no capture
@Axecution - ahh my bad, sorry was talking about the mockups that was posted just above.
It's hilarious that you made a factual mistake because you responded to the wrong comment and you STILL have more upvotes. Just really goes to show you what kind of mental midgets browse this site.
@abovetheclouds - it was an honest mistake, and people reading it might have been looking at the same mockup I was originally referring to. Who knows.
Hoping the pro version is real too although I may just stick with the mini, loved my psp and vitas portability. Base switch is too big and heavy lol.
it's definitely not too heavy. It's not like you are holding a brick or anything. A little big if you don't have a backpack or something to throw it into for travelling, but it's not like my hands or arms have ever been sore playing in handheld mode for a couple of hours.
the original one is fine don't need a mini lol the one itself is already small lol!
This just to counter the hacking that was with Nvidia chip. If were a new Switch owner I buying the old one, it will be cheaper and likely have better features.
Nice. I'd only really play it in handheld mode so this cheaper option without a Dock sounds good to me https://www.myinstants.com/...
If I remember correctly, I haven't played the new Mario Party in a few months but Im pretty sure this game doesn't have a handheld control scheme due to the mini games. So honestly I don't believe its gonna have controllers built into it. First off that would defeat the purpose of it being named a Nintendo Switch. And nobody would be able to play Mario party since it requires wireless Joy-cons. Or they would have to buy a extra set of controllers to play that game. I do agree if they did just sell a portable only bundle of it though maybe save 50 bucks on the price. that would be nice.
Let's pretend for a minute that some games won't be compatible. Would be more than $50 off, which might be very attractive to new customers. Docks and joycons are both around 80 bucks each. Anywhere online, you can get the tablet replacement with no accessories for about $100 even. Also, less build materials, including smaller screen meaning lower manufacturing cost. I'd wager it sells for less than $200.
To save $50 you lose the flexibility that makes Switch so great. This is a big step backward. We need hardware improvement/refinement. Not a cheaper version.
it should be called the LiteSwitch
Until Nintendo jumps out of the bush and yells surprise with the new model of Switch I don't buy it.
Pffff, no thanks
What's wrong with moderation on this site? Comment above - "That looks gross" = Inappropriate. So you can't say anything bad about piece of plastic or the holy Nintendo, is that the idea? Comment in this thread "That's what many men have said to your ..." = fine. So saying something bad about a person or his/her mom is fine?
Isn't that ridiculous, the BS,hypocrisy & disrespect runs rampant on this site.
Meh. This still cant play RE 2 remake and my dad's 300$ laptop can. Albeit at 25-30fps but is still noticeably MIA on supposedly the "hottest system out right now"🙄
don't buy switch for third party , first party only
The moment you point me at an Xbox One or PS4 I can carry in my pocket and play on the bus, I'll agree with you.
I doubt your dads $300 laptop runs that game at even 25 FPS. What are the specs?
The specs are: laptop playable, switch unplayable. That’s the specs. No but seriously I’ve got the kids a cheap $300 laptop and it will play lots of stuff on low settings. At $300 I don’t know the specs cause it’s a given they are sheet specs, and I don’t even study low end hardware anyway.
8gb ram and an 8th gen I5. Think he got it on sale tho for black friday.
In my 20s I couldn’t bring myself to like any cutesy Mario Nintendo stuff, now I’m older with kids and I love that stuff. So not having RE is a non factor, it’s hot for playing the cute exclusives.
RE 2 remake doesn’t run on a cheap laptop in 2019. Maybe in 2021.
I think it's possible it depends how old the laptop is and if it's second hand or not ect. The min specs for Resident Evil 2 are i5 4460 or a FX6300 and for GPU GTX 760. For example this $369 laptop will run Resident Evil 2 at 720p 30FPS https://www.amazon.com/Leno... https://www.youtube.com/wat...
He got it on sale on black friday for 300$. Not sure of the normal MSRP but the Switch couldnt even be had for 300 flat on black friday so ....yeah..
Ocelot, you're linking a cheap laptop with an APU and then a benchmark video for a desktop (with an Asus Prime B350 motherboard*) with that APU. You can't do that. (Well, you can; but it isn't valid.) There are various problems with that comparison, with the killer being thermals. A laptop is going to throttle itself down in a hurry when faced with a demanding load, because it just can't move enough air in that small form factor to keep things cool inside. Even 4-figure iMacs have that problem. Without throttling down, you get the PC equivalent of an RRoD. * https://www.asus.com/us/Mot...
If it can do Witcher 3, it can do the RE2 remake. It's a question of someone porting it there, not of capability. On the other hand, no one is going to port demanding PC games to cheap laptops. Either they scale down to integrated graphics and poor thermals, or they don't.
Agreed, but also on your other comment, Switch doesnt have anywhere NEAR the quality of first party titles that xbone and PS4 have so to call the Switch a portable one of those is just misguided bro im sorry😂🤦 maybeee you could get away with calling it a portable 360/PS3? But we already played all those game anyway my guy 🤷🏻♂️
This was found to be a fan mockup.
It was in a resetera thread/ Image used above is from a previously existing fan mockup
They're using a Mario Party DS cover shot on one of the screens, of course it's a fan mockup.
Cute. I'm guessing this is strictly a handheld now or can it be played on the tv as well like the original hybrid.
I will probably be able to use a dock
The pics of the system all look like mock -ups, not actual physical devices. I wonder if those images are preliminary. They all look...sort of...plain I guess is the word I'd use. Wouldn't surprise me if the final machine is a bit dif.
That's the version for me. The screen could be smaller.
