I was kind of shocked how many people enjoyed the network test. I thought this looked budget and the animations seemed pretty rigid. I mean it's a completely serviceable game, but I was really unimpressed. I feel like God Eater 3 looks and controls better.

TheGamez1002193d ago (Edited 2193d ago )

The games pretty good imo and shouldnt be passed just because of it being a souls clone and being very anime. From what Ive played with the test, its pretty solid and fun besides some of its technical problems which dont break the game. It combines the souls gameplay with the god eater talent storytelling so I think Ill enjoy this one more than the souls series. You should try the game yourself before passing judgement, watching gameplay videos really dont do the game justice. I was quite surprised that I liked it that much too when I tried the network test, spent maybe 2hrs just on the character customization and finished the whole demo in 7hrs.

I played the network test. I found a lot of it to be mediocre in comparison to games of a similar genre. The story is pretty hammy, but different strokes for different folks.

TheGamez1002193d ago

I mean yea of course itd be mediocre compared to fromsoft. The story will be your typical anime, nothing crazy epic like god of war or anything, but I like that sorta thing lol. I trust the godeater team and am a fan of theirs especially with god eater 1&2 and enjoyed the test so Ill give the game a day one. To each their own of course.

Demon's Souls isn't Soulslike. It's the original Souls game. WTF? And Elden Ring?

Another Crab's Treasure simply is not.

All the journos claiming things are "Soulslike" simply don't know what that word means.

GeeEssEff129d ago

The term “Soulslike” has become ridiculously diluted. I have seen it used for games just because they are difficult.

Cacabunga129d ago

Reminds me of Doom like back in the days for every FPS game

blackblades129d ago (Edited 129d ago )

Yeah, souls, souls lite, souls like same goes for rogue.

anast128d ago

It's either AI or the writer doesn't know the subject matter.

robtion129d ago

I've played all of these bar the Crab one so not a very accurate title.

Goodguy01129d ago (Edited 129d ago )

Nioh 1+2 imo are the best souls clone. Love the melee combat and ki system, really hoping team ninja doesn't abandon the IP and continue with a new title, hell just give us your take on the western fantasy setting for a new nioh game.

robtion129d ago

Yes Nioh 2 in particular is great. Also Wo Long (which is basically Nioh 3).

qalpha129d ago

Should have included 'Lies of P'. Seriously fun game.

Nacho_Z128d ago

That's what I was going to say, great game. Best non From Soulslike I've played.

Code Vein has surpassed 3 million copies shipped worldwide

Code Vein Official Twitter: "Code Vein has surpassed 3 million copies shipped worldwide, and it's all thanks to you. Dear Revenants, please enjoy this commemorative illustration to show our appreciation."

GoodGuy09822d ago

Funny. I was just thinking this should get a sequel. With the souls genre being so well known now, now is a good time. Wo Long seems to have sold pretty well.

Abnor_Mal820d ago

Currently playing through the game, but I’m getting my ass handed to me at the moment with a boss fight. Two bosses at the same time, ones female fast and uses ice, while the other is a giant metal guy/robot that uses a flame thrower:

Definitely was better than I thought it was going to be, and would welcome a sequel.
