Nintendo’s E3 2019 Presentation Review: Surprise, Surprise

This year’s E3 was for the most part, quite underwhelming. None of the publishers really put out anything particularly surprising or exciting besides some handful exceptions – like Keanu Reeves in Cyberpunk 2077 (and it wasn’t even technically gameplay), Bethesda’s two new IPs – Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo where Ikumi Makamura was more of a talking point than the game itself (Because of the lack of gameplay) and Ubisoft’s announcement for WatchDogs: Legion plus a new IP, Gods & Monsters (again, no gameplay); overall it was just a lot of PR fluff, known releases and announcement trailers with barebones gameplay showcases.

It’s a lovely company with lovely games on a lovely console. Seriously, I own many games and consoles, but I am growing more and more happy with my switch. #playinginbed

I have all the current platforms and the Switch is a gamers dream, it’s becoming my all time favourite machine, a pure joy to play.

After the hype wore off during the height of COVID I found New Horizons disappointing compared to. Ew Leaf

NH gave us a lot more cool features but then took things away which they slowly drip fed us with poor updates

Crazy how much it sold and how popular it was during COVID and it got such terrible support

We need more control in the next game, the fact we couldn’t move the airport or town hall was ridiculous and certain items were randomised, like I could get a black lamppost unless a friend gave me one of his because mine were green.

In the end I still prefer New Leaf, one of the most important factors being the breakable tools. It gets pretty annoying when you have to keep making bug nets, fishing rods etc in New Horizons.

It came out at the perfect time and was completely abandoned save for a couple of small updates. Those months after release could have taken the game to a whole other level but I guess Nintendo wasn’t impressed with the number of active players.

The 7 Best Selling Switch Games of All Time

The Nintendo Switch has been an undeniable success for Nintendo, but which games make the best selling chart for the console?

Animal crossing came out the week the entire world shutdown. Yeah I bought it.

Agreed. I think a lot of the AC: H sales have to do with early lockdown players!

I mean, I would've played it anyway. But I guess there's a lot of people who got into it because of the hype and their new found free time!

Nintendo made out like bandits with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's the same game that was on the WiiU except they added 2 item boxes like in double dash.

It's the Capcom method:

1. Add a new word to the end of the title and features that should've been expected first time around.
2. Charge full price for it.
3. Profit.

this is why i always say that Nintendo will always be fine. look at those numbers lol
