The Australian Federal Government is pushing forward with a plan to force Internet Service Providers [ISPs] to censor the Internet for all Australians. This plan will waste tens of millions of taxpayer dollars and slow down Internet access.

Holy cow! What are you people doing down there? Why is the government trying to take over the job of parents. Thats a mighty big brother you got yourselves.
Plenty of video games get banned/censored in Austraila and now this? Damn, I'm glad I live in the States.
You wouldn't believe half of the stuff that has been going on in regards to this. Ordinary Australians are being sent letters by the government for opposing the censor on forums, politicians are accusing other politicians of being pedophiles for speaking out against it and so far, there has been no mainstream media coverage at all. The ones behind the filter are basically just sticking their fingers in their ears when it comes to any kind of criticism, be it from public surveys, public petitions or even from the three biggest ISP's in Australia who have all gone on record as being against it. The threat of this happening is real, and it could very well happen right under everybodys noses while all the media attention is focused on the economy. Tests are already being run and budget money has already been allocated (to the tune of $150m) and more people need to be aware.
Wow, sounds like a bunch of BS. I always thought the Australian government was a bit more laid back. This sort of action is definitely uncalled for in any country. There are better ways to "protect" your people.
