I mean red dead 2 is 4k native on xb x I don't see why cyberpunk wouldn't be.

fathertime44642154d ago

That's understating it though. Rrd2 looks great and is 4k, however it's kinda Barron and simple. This is way more impressive, it's a metropolis

Lennoxb632153d ago

They’ve optimized it well.

timotim2153d ago

Not all games are made equally, but native 4K for a AAA is equally as impressive every time.

Obscure_Observer2153d ago

Scarlett is not really necessary

meep3162153d ago

well technically we could have just stuck with super nintendo and still played games, but its not about what is necessary but what people actually want.

meep3162153d ago

Thats not how this works, but it at least proves its possible.

"Beast" at 30 fps.

Yes that cpu is a beast alright.

Gravesinger_2153d ago

@SierraGuy

I hope you're a PC guy, or you sound like a dumbass

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH2153d ago

I’m assuming your a pc guy and if you are I’m assuming your PC will run this game in 4K @ 60fps and I’m also assuming your rich with money to blow on such a powerful PC that you have...

SierraGuy2153d ago (Edited 2153d ago )

The "beast" should be able to run this walking simulator at 60fps...no?

PS is no better.

poppinslops2153d ago

Whoa... that's like the gnarliest resolution!

carcarias2153d ago

Can you run it at 1080 with 60fps? I'll take that over 4k 30fps any day. I hope it's an option.

solidossnakos2153d ago

I don't think so.
To push fps or double it, the x1x cpu will bottleneck the gpu.

Zeke682153d ago

Yes but you only have 25% of the resolution going from 4k down to 1080p so you end up with less load on the cpu at the lower resolution.

meep3162153d ago

@Zeke68 I dont mean to pick on you, but that is the most incorrect post Ive seen in a while. As the resolution goes down the cpu take a bigger hit as you become less gpu bound. However, with a 30 fps cap the cpu might already be doing everything it can even at higher resolutions, just depends on if the gpu is bottle-necking at all.

Zeke682153d ago

So you mean lowering the resolution will bottle-neck the cpu even more ? If so, how can many games not run at all in 4K but when you lower the resolution you can run them in 1080/60fps ? Explain that too me please. :)
"As the resolution goes down the cpu take a bigger hit as you become less gpu bound" - Or you use (assuming we are using a unified programming pipeline like the PS4 / Pro are using) the overhead of the GPU-power to offload the CPU like every other game on the PS4 does ?

FlyingFoxy2153d ago (Edited 2153d ago )

I'd be surprised if next gen could run this at 60fps 4k without compromise tbh.. Why i went 1440p high refresh for my gaming monitor.

The highest game graphics are gonna struggle to hold 60fps at 4k, you can already see that with high end GPUs on some graphic intensive titles on PC if you look up reviews of a 2080 for example, Tomb Raider being one of em.

Razzer2153d ago (Edited 2153d ago )

It doesn't say 4K at all. It says Xbox One X Enhanced. That does not mean it is 4K and there is no 4k Ultra HD logo. It probably will be 4K (in some way) at some point, but at this point this article is incorrect.

"Xbox One X Enhanced: Enhanced features for Xbox One X subject to release of a content update. Games information at xbox.com/enhanced."
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/...

"The Xbox One X Enhanced logo means the developer has done extra work to optimize for Xbox One X. This may include higher resolutions, faster framerates and/or improved textures. The HDR logo indicates that the game supports the HDR 10 standard. The 4K Ultra HD icon means the game outputs at 2160p"

gamer78042153d ago

Yup, either way though i Honestly for a game as visually impressive as cyberpunk id prefer them to add more detail and effects over 4k

darthv722153d ago

but wouldnt that 4k make the detail really... pop? You sort of need that resolution to add the detail seeing as it provides more room on screen to fit it all in.

xenz2153d ago

4K litteraly adds more detail, and it helps massively to improve aliasing

meep3162153d ago (Edited 2153d ago )

I dont know @darthv72, it depends on the size of your screen and how far you are from it. On a 55" screen its hard to tell much difference above 1440p unless you get real close. However, most tvs dont accept anything in between 1080p and 2160p, so native 4k is nice when we can hit it since scaling from 1440p (or even somethign around that) to 4k doesnt always work out that well (red dead 2 on ps4 pro is kind of blurry).

Kaze242153d ago

X1X Enhanced is 4k even if it doesn't say 4k.. Most likely 4k/30fps, 1080p/60fps or even better at 1440p/60fps.

Razzer2153d ago

Wrong. I posted the meaning of Xbox One X Enhanced. It explicitly says: "The 4K Ultra HD icon means the game outputs at 2160p"

I really want to know what's going on with docked vrr cause cyberpunk at 40 fps docked seems to be a choice driven by vrr

DLSS should help the Nintendo Switch 2 with longevity

Profchaos10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Based on so e of the impossible ports we saw on switch 1 I'm not worried about the hardwares longevity.

Next gen systems ps6 and next box might slow down switch 2 development but given leaks showing PlayStation releasing a new portable system around the same time as ps6 that can play ps5 games says that next gen cross gen seems to be poised to last the entire generation

And right now I'd say there isn't much that couldn't be scaled down to run on switch 2

Goodguy0111d ago

Nvidia or Nintendo need to come out and detail how dlss will work on switch 2. Like is it dlss4? Or just completely customized for the switch.

Tacoboto11d ago

I'm sure they've detailed exactly that in documentation provided to developers.

b00mFargl311d ago

It will probably be behind a $20 demo that we have to download. 😂

PRIMORDUS11d ago

I like to know as well, which version of DLSS? 2, 3, 3.5 or 4? I mean it's not that hard for Nintendo to say which version games will use.

Profchaos10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Given the specs of the system and the time the hardware was produced if I had a stab in the dark I'd say a heavily customised dlss3

Neonridr11d ago

it's GPU is based around ampere technology, which is 3 series cards tech. So some features from DLSS4 can be ported down to older cards, just not some 5 series exclusive features like multi-frame gen.

Notellin11d ago

If they did what would that be even do for you?

originaljohn7d ago

Why do you care, are you a developer?

40fps docked is a interesting choice as it's in the vrr range but we don't have confirmation of vrr docked
