You are generalizing an entire group of "gamers" because one guy says he is happy E3 is dying. There are plenty of E3 articles here and I don't see them filled with Sony fans proclaiming their absolute wish that the event died. If someone says that then, by all means, take them to task for it. But that alone doesn't fulfill your agenda. To do that you need to broadly apply their opinion to the larger group of Sony gamers. That's just how your bullshit works. And we both know it.

Which isn't the point at all, now is it? The discussion of the relevance or overall health of E3 has been an ongoing topic for YEARS before Sony opted out. A diminished interest level by some people because Sony isn't there is hardly the same as saying they hope E3 dies. That's the bullshit noctis is trying to push. I would love to see FromSoftware do a more true RPG but keep the combat, exploration, and boss battles we are familiar with. So basically expanded multiple choice dialogue and NPCs to interact with. Also enemy NPCs that don't immediately attack us, allow us more options in defeating them whether peacefully or other options

If Miyazaki claims to be 'original', why does he need people like George R.R. Martin? Of course it's a big name, you could sell more ... but c'mon ... because I don't find Martin's books on the same level of originality as the FromSoftware games, totally different. How do they match (other for more commercial success at the expanse of compormising a more original vision)? Sellout much? Some say they're the best developers in the industry, but for me they're getting less and less original with each game, didn't even bother to buy Sekiro (Asian mythology is not the most original setting and I don't want to talk about the other things), sellout much? That's the question that pops in my mind every time I read FromSoftware nowadays, of course their fans will eat up everything. For me their best games were Demon's Souls and Bloodborne, the rest was rather sellout stuff that was praised to heavens and back (okay, Dark Souls 1 was very well balanced too, it had a good balance between originality and commercial success) ...

They're still among the top 10 developers for me, but not the best anymore (Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Guerilla Games and even Team Ico (even though they didn't produce much in the last years) still hold the top spots for me. Heck, I even prefer to play Mario Kart and Mario games over Dark Souls and any other FromSoftware game nowadays, sadly (once they became more popular with Demon's Souls and Dark Souls I thought they would have ereased the top developers in the industry as far as originality and quality goes, but I was clearly wrong) ...

The emphasis on being original by ppl like you is toxic in a way. Just because something is original doesnt make it good and something like the solid well made games theyve been churning out sell well and keep them in business. Which again there is a balance to be struck when it comes to video games as art and video games as a business.

Edit: Also you cant be original 24/7 eventually ideas and themes repeat themselves. Putting your brand or twist on a tried and true idea is not shameful or to be shunned otherwise 90% of the games we have wouldnt exist.

He always presented himself as the top inventor of the industry, look at his grin every time he came on stage. Well he tried, but he failed miserably ... yes, his games have the commercial success now, but at the expanse of originality, for me he didn't find the right balance or didn't want to find it, you know ... once you make tons of money, you want to make even more money. Look at Dark Souls 3, for example, a game created for money (that's the impression i got when I played it). For me it didn't meet the quality of their previous games, they slapped the name Dark Souls on it mostly to make money, hope you understand what I mean ...

Now George Martin, what does Martin's literature have to do with a Japanese classic like Dark Souls, for me his games are very Japanese, while Martin's literature is rather westernized, too westernized. It's like trying to insert Harry Potter things into a Japanese horror-movie, it could work, otherwise it couldn't (still people will eat everything up, as long as it is comercially successful). They don't care if that something loses it's core or it's soul. For me his games have after playing Dark Souls 3. They should stay with their own ideas or why do they want George Martin so eager? Hoepfully they game won't remind me too much of George Martin's works, because I want original Miyazaki, or have their lost own ideas? ...

They did, in the past. Dark Souls granted them high success and now they want to stay with that formula. Die 1000 times in 1 minute. That's what works for their business. They don't change so easily, that's their formula to make money. People seem too enjoy the same stuff over and over again. It will end like Pokemon, sooner or later you are tired to play the same formula over and over again. In a different coat. That's why I stopped after Dark Souls 3.

But when the translators explained to Miyazaki and the gang that in some English speaking countries dark ring is an slang for b-hole they decided to change the last word for the original game's name: Souls
