It can be a tedious and troublesome thing, filtering through all of those "Darksouls-esque" games to see which might be worth the time. Is Code Vein potentially worth the time?
Ben from Netto's Game Room takes a look back at five video games where you are better off "staying inside" as the "outside" is actually much worse!
Soulslikes are punishingly difficult but amongst the most compelling games. Power Up Gaming goes through the top ten Soulslikes you're likely not playing.
Demon's Souls isn't Soulslike. It's the original Souls game. WTF? And Elden Ring?
Another Crab's Treasure simply is not.
All the journos claiming things are "Soulslike" simply don't know what that word means.
Nioh 1+2 imo are the best souls clone. Love the melee combat and ki system, really hoping team ninja doesn't abandon the IP and continue with a new title, hell just give us your take on the western fantasy setting for a new nioh game.
Code Vein Official Twitter: "Code Vein has surpassed 3 million copies shipped worldwide, and it's all thanks to you. Dear Revenants, please enjoy this commemorative illustration to show our appreciation."
Funny. I was just thinking this should get a sequel. With the souls genre being so well known now, now is a good time. Wo Long seems to have sold pretty well.
Currently playing through the game, but I’m getting my ass handed to me at the moment with a boss fight. Two bosses at the same time, ones female fast and uses ice, while the other is a giant metal guy/robot that uses a flame thrower:
Definitely was better than I thought it was going to be, and would welcome a sequel.
After playing the network test I have to give a resounding YES! After playing betas of both I’m more excited for Code Vein than Nioh 2. For me, that’s saying a lot.
Loved the test, spent over 6hrs on it and finished the final boss. What a blast it was. Just hope itll be more stable by release and we get the actual release date soon. Thisll definately be right next to bloodborne for me (dark souls is just meh to me). Huge fan of the god eater team so this wont disappoint me.
Man, I don’t know if it’s because I’m coming off Sekiro but I thought the network test was awful. It felt slow, it looked budget, controls did not feel as tight as I’m used to for this genre, maybe the retail version will be good but I honestly couldn’t even finish the network test.
