Viacom Pays Ex-Harmonix Owners $150M

Edge writes: "This week, Viacom reported a $150 million earn-out paid to former shareholders in Rock Band maker Harmonix following strong performance of the franchise.

Viacom inked the earn-out deal with shareholders in 2006 when its subsidiary, MTV Networks, acquired Cambridge, Mass.-based Harmonix for $175 million. The earn-out deal is in addition to the amount paid for the actual studio.

The former shareholders, namely the owners of Harmonix when it was independent, are expected to receive another bonus due to meeting undisclosed financial targets."
