Fade to Silence Review | NZGC

Zombie: "I am sure we have all had those games that aren’t by a well known developer but there is something about the artwork, thematics, stories or trailers that piques your interest.
This happened to me with Fade to Silence, each new thing I saw regarding the game just expanded my curiosity about it so I jumped at the chance to review it. However we all know exactly what curiosity did to the cat right?"

Anyone play this? I'm interested, i know reviews were terrible, but the difficulty and setting intrigue me.

I played it via a review copy for my site. TERRIBLE game, everything you've seen reviewing it horribly is all justified.

Now, I played it when it was new, and haven't been following its progression (assuming it's been getting updated), so I can't speak on it's current state, but at launch it was just bloody awful.

Fade To Silence PC Review - A Game Of Solitude - Thumb Culture

"Fade To Silence is not a game for new gamers. It’s a punishing game that does not forgive you for poor judgment. It will not hold your hand, so make sure you have your big boy/girl pants on.

Fade To Silence is based in a post-apocalyptic frozen wasteland. You play a character called Ash. You have to gather resources just to stay alive. Fade To Silence sets you up with limited lives and permadeath. To those of you who don’t know what that means, it’s simple. When you run out of lives it’s game over, no continues just death and you have to start your adventure over again from the beginning." Roy @ Thumb Culture

Look, if your one of those people who can’t wait for summer to be over, I don’t begrudge you that. But I would personally rather die in a pool of my own sweat than ever see another snowflake again. I don’t want to say you’re wrong, but Fade To Silence backs me up by having a Lovecraft inspired eldritch horror end the whole world with eternal winter while constantly wielding it as a weapon. Just saying.
