Exotic Changes Coming To Destiny 2 With Season Of Opulence

Last week Bungie announced that a number of changes are being made to Exotics with the next season, Season of Opulence. These changes haven't been very well received by the community so far, but they're an important part of Bungie preserving all of their game modes. Without changes like these Gambit and the Crucible would be dominated by a few weapons, as was the case so often in Destiny 1. Let's dive in and see which Exotics are changing to help preserve fair play in Destiny 2.

A shame, I was starting to like D2 with this current season but the nerfs coming in are just plain made to slow the community down and extended the last bit of content they have. This next season will be it guys till D3

I've got at least half a dozen exotic quests that I'm just never going to do. I don't care what carrot they dangle in front of me, I'm not playing anything I don't want to, especially the terrible PvP.

they should just have a game mode where everyone gets a standard weapon for people worried about it being fair.

I didn't like when they took buying extra ammo away..... Who builds weapons that you can't create ammo for? Who builds weapons that rely on the enemy to resupply their weapons.... And advance intelligent creatures that can travel through space and/or time should be able to figure out that Earth is using their dead as resources and would have quickly found ways to exploit that HUGE weakness........

We didn't have this problem in Destiny 1 when ammo was available to buy.... it was ok..... However the Military doesn't require soldiers to buy ammo for their missions. Guardians are closer to soldiers than Mercs. Destiny 2 sort of ruin the story when they changed the whole dynamic of working together to save mankind to Gaurdians are just a bunch of mercs or pirates.

The story, heck just common sense life routines are broken. Hard to immerse yourself into the game with broken story and game elements that don't make sense

Heavy Machine guns don't feel like Heavy Machine Guns and, in the Military, Heavy Machine guns carry have massive amount of ammo with the gun. We had more Heavy Ammo than normal ammo. Drums and Belt feed ammo was common in Heavy Machine Guns..... So I guess Bungie thought it didn't fit so well that is why there isn't many in the game.... However in real life we do have Modified Auto Rifles that fill the purpose of a Heavy Machine Gun but uses the same ammo as the standard auto rifle. Guess what, those auto rifles filling the role the Heavy Machine Gun is used for generally have drums of like 200 rounds. Also because their fire rate is can be faster or/and more constant we always have more ammo around for that weapon but the advantage is that also increases the ammo for regular auto rifles since they share the same ammo. This is totally not how it works in Destiny with some exceptions but usual at the cost of less damage.

Grenades launchers should be doing way more damage

There are huge balance issues with weapons in this game that almost destroy the identity of the weapon because Bungie nerfs the weapon because it works.... geez... can't have that....

We haven't even covered problems with balance and issues with Class and Subclass powers....
or sometimes it's ok for guardians to work together to defeat a foe but when its obvious that other players are heading into the same area my team is heading we can't work with that team (even after we just defeated an approved team event)

Loot is boring and doesn't always make sense.... minibosses should never give Rare (blue) loot and it shouldn't even be called rare because they are pretty generic...... blues should be labeled uncommon and greens should be called common and white should be renamed to 'Core' weapons

Grinding in this game is worse than many other games that actually purposely embrace it... Bungie trys to underplay the Grind but Destiny 2 is a Grind fest that doesn't have much Loot to Grind for.....

I have a Season past but interest had been consistently falling with this game especially when other games do a better job at rewarding game play. Even if Destiny is playing smoother or looks better still feels more rewarding and fun to play the other games because better rewards lead to feeling more fun....

Destiny 2 does not make a long term commitment worth it.... Perhaps short term may give the occasional yea.... Still it looks decent and plays smooth maybe that's all some players need

Onslaught is certainly a lot of fun. Plus it's nice having a wide array of extremely useful weapons to grind for.

10 Years Later, Bungie STILL Hasn't Improved Warlock Mobility in Destiny 2

Warlocks in Destiny 2 are great for loads of things. Healing? We got that. Awesome PvE action? Sure! Warlock Mobility? Severely lacking.
