Now this is just sad. I don't think they'll be able to compete with next gen consoles and current pcs with this kind of obsolete hardware.

Babadook728d ago (Edited 28d ago )

Indeed they won’t. Typical hi speed internet makes the footage of early stadia loose so much clarity it lies well below Xbox one x and ps4 pro visuals.

phoenixwing28d ago

casuals may not care though. To them they would maybe think it's still good the way people think netflix is top quality when a native blu ray is way better.

bouzebbal28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

This service is clearly targeting the mass audience.. Casual games and why not smartphones "gamers" with average Internet

Oathbreaker28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

Streaming games is not necessarily about horsepower.

Those who care about horsepower are not looking to games streaming to provide that.

mcstorm28d ago

Your spot on. This is also one reason why Microsoft have said they want to offer xcloud along side xbox and pc. They know the core will go for power and causal will go for streaming especially if xcloud boxis £100 or less and a xbox is £350+

ButtAnihilator28d ago

They've been boasting about teraflops and 4k 60fps though, so their target demographic mustn't be very different from the target demographic of traditional consoles, and they're probably gonna miss that target by a long shot.

meep31628d ago (Edited 28d ago )

what is it then? You can play Fortnite on an iPhone at 60 fps in 2019, why does anyone need this garbage going forward? to put it in perspective, in a couple of years pretty much any phone will be fast enough for Fortnite at 60 fps. Years ago streaming would have been useful, but the tech wasnt good enough and now time is running out for this idea. I can see everything going digital only, but running games server side is nonsense.

@ButtAnihilator lol at the name, this is google we are talking about.. one of the most dishonest and shady companies in existence.. who also happens to have a growing information monopoly.

I’m pretty sure ps5 is gonna be around the same cause Sony is marketing the SSD so hard for the ps5 that it’s making me think it’s not gonna be as powerful but the secret sauce is that SSD Xbox I feel is gonna be the powerful one

ShadowWolf71227d ago (Edited 27d ago )

This thing is supposed to be tons more powerful than the PS5 though, according to Google's claims.

_LarZen_27d ago

It’s stackable hardware so it will have the possibility to outperform any consumer rated hardware. Including next-gen consoles and high-end PC’s.

This is going to be a massive flop.

Kumakai28d ago

So streaming and inferior hardware to what the ps5 and Scarlett will be rendering local... no thx to stadia for me.

There are many more people than you who will say "this ain't too bad".

Agent_00_Revan27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

But will it be worth the price pf admission? People can say "this ain't too bad" to things like Netflix, Hulu Xbox Gamepass & PS Now. But when it comes down to how much it costs every month, and with this service, theoretically never ends. Will people see value in that vs buying a console and owning it as long as they want?

343_Guilty_Spark27d ago

Google thinks it will be. And they are often right.

i was interested to begin with but this makes it worse heh
