i'm not going to click through 10 pages so i don't know the list. my absolute favorite game in this genre is journey - sure, it came out on ps3 but i redloaded it on ps4 so i'm counting it. everyone who likes these types of games should experience journey.
however, i loved "gone home" and "everybody has gone to the rapture" too. the mystery in GH kept me interested while "rapture" was just a peaceful experience.
edit; haven't played firewatch yet, but i'm going to make time for it soon.

i'll have to check it out.

Detroit is not really a Walking Sim

@uth11
I would call it a hybrid between a Telltale game and and something else.

Journey rocked! Dear Esther was just okay to me with a ton of reading. I recommend Firewatch. That was a cool story and interesting take on your character and the overall job working in a park.

i'm going to be playing firewatch soon!

Firewatch is incredible! One of my favorite gaming experiences.

Journey wasn't on the list.

nucky642209d ago

makes sense - it technically was a ps3 game and just brought over to ps4 - i still think journey is so good it's worth mentioning.
thanks for the info.

I am not much of a fan of this genre.. because it usually has the barest minimum gameplay..

But I did find "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" interesting because of the environments

nucky642209d ago

i got that one because i wasn't playing anything at the time - and i really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Layers of Fear and Gone Home. Dear Ester was pretty good and I dug Journey and Abzu. These types of games are great changes of pace imo.

i'm going to play firewatch soon - i've heard nothing but good things from people (like you) who have played it.

Hardiman2209d ago

Yeah it's really a special gen! Really enjoyed it.

Fist4achin2209d ago

I agree. Sometimes its good to dial it down a notch or two from different gaming genres.

Hardiman2209d ago

Absolutely and they remind me of Myst back in the day. Like you said it's a nice change of pace and really refreshing actually!
