Hellmut: The Badass From Hell Review | NZGC

Zombie write: "Now class I would like you all to take your blenders and mix Doom along with Wolfenstein to form the base for our other ingredients.

Next you will need to add a healthy cup of The Binding Isaac, measures don’t need to be exact as this is to give the previous additions some form but make sure you mix thoroughly before pouring into a glass.

Lastly you will need to take some Altered Beast and you are going to want to be delicate here as we only want to carve out the exciting transformations so the rest of it you can disregard, now we need to freeze the parts of Altered Beast we want until they are nice and solid, luckily we have some here that I prepared earlier.

Nice dose of nostalgia there really brings out the pulpiness of our mix and what we are going to do is grate the frozen Altered Beast over the top giving us Hellmut: The Badass From Hell to truly enjoy at our leisure."

Hellmut: The Badass from Hell Review | TheSwitchHub

Darren writes: "Hellmut: The Badass From Hell has a cool retro style, attitude and decent soundtrack with some good, if not wholly original, ideas. However, on balance £26.99 for a game that gets repetitive, and dare I say tiresome, is quite frankly too much to fork out."

Review - Hellmut: The Badass From Hell (Xbox One) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Jordan Hawes: "Hellmut: The Badass from Hell is a bit of a mixed bag that deserved a little extra development time to flesh out more of its ideas. It has all the fundamentals of a great twin-stick roguelike shoot ’em up, but falls short in some of its systems. If the game was longer, perhaps a bit harder, and had better level and world design, Hellmut could be a top contender in the genre. It is worth mentioning that there is a tournament mode that encourages playing with friends, but it’s essentially just a time-based playthrough to see who can go further and faster. If you love the genre, you’ll still find things to love here, but if you’re already a shoot ’em up pro, then it won’t have the legs to keep you entertained for long."
