"One note: Don’t expect any updates relating to our next-generation plans this time. Sorry!"

Its an update on ps4 games, with a focus on Medievil.

From ZhugeEX:

“Last time I said “Don’t expect much”.

“Well this one will be better than the last for sure. We'll see updates to Sony games, a new title (as mentioned in the OP) and also the re-reveal of a third party game that was announced long ago.”

Sounds interesting. Only 10 minutes long though.

DaDrunkenJester1815d ago

Oh good, I have been wanting more Medievil info!

crazyCoconuts1815d ago

I like the expectation setting. Less disappointment that way.

Ceaser98573611815d ago

Ya... Not expecting LOU 2 and others. Sony will probably show them Just after E3 is over I believe..

Obscure_Observer1815d ago

Hopefully, new updates (and dates) for TLOU 2, Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding.

rainslacker1814d ago

next complaint incoming...."Sony didn't show anything about next gen".

Sad they have to clarify this stuff ahead of time so people won't complain. They'll complain anyways...same way they said they weren't going to show anything of some of their bigger games on the last show.

Wow, they really just copied Nintendo's whole game update/announcement style.

I like it, just gotta give props where props are due.

CaptainCook1815d ago

Not really, the last State of Play was a boredfest

crazyCoconuts1815d ago

Yea another Marvel exclusive... Snore. Just another boring day in ho-hum-Playstationville /s

isarai1815d ago

Its literally just a those reels youd see on old demo discs and game store displays. Formats been around for decades, Nintendo just brought it back

Spenok1814d ago

Yep, and technically, Sony was the first to do this format with their Qore sub way back in the PS3 days. It was a paid sub though, which kind of sucked. But either way, it was the same format and done years before anyone else.

ocelot071815d ago

Thing is Sony was doing this sort of thing a few years ago with Quore (think it was called that). Didn't they announce the psp go via one of these direct/state of play announcement videos.

isarai1815d ago

And PlayStation Underground before that, actually they still do PlayStation Underground every now and then.

thesoftware7301815d ago

You guys can pretend all you want and pull any announcement videos from the past, but we all know big and small video game presentations were made popular and relevant by Nintendo. In fact Nintendo was the first out of the big 3 to drop E3 stage shows in place of Directs, they took major backlash from the Nintendo haters at the time. The Directs were such a hit and cost effective way that generated a more concentrated shot of news and announcements that it made sense for Sony to follow. We also know how many disastrous stage shows we have seen over the years, where live shows always encounter embarrassing hiccups..Nintendo was just ahead of the curve.

The problem is you strictly, Sony people cant see that and deny and try to say silly stuff like...Sony have been doing that a long time ago...no, just no. I wasn't bashing Sony btw, just giving credit where credit is due, some thing people on here seem pressed not to..trust me, if you do, Sony wont disown you or kill your cat.

Knushwood Butt1814d ago

@ thesoftware

So Nintendo copied Sony, but Nintendo made it popular and relevant?

Shikoku1815d ago

Why the hell are they copying Nintendo? The Nintendo directs aren't really that good man.

King_Noctis1815d ago

They are good. Even the Sony State of Play is also acceptable. I don’t know what show you are watching.

Shikoku1815d ago (Edited 1815d ago )

No they're not they suck sorry I prefer the conference

Razmiran1815d ago

Yeah, it should be like inside xbox
Have people talking about nothing and close it up with the bombastic announcement of 2 controllers and an xbox live price raise

Shikoku1815d ago

No it should be like it usually is Sony talking about games having an awesome event. Not copying someone else idea that's just lame.

I_am_Batman1815d ago

This doesn't necessarily mean no conferences though. As far as I understand they want to use these to get the minor news out of the way of the big conferences. I assume this is just to update people on the titles that are already announced or to announce titles that wouldn't really make a splash at E3. I like it as long as we still get a hype conference from time to time.

CaitSith1814d ago

I don't mind it, but they could do with a name change. I don't like the sound of 'State of Play'. It sounds pretentious asf.

Not to bad.

whitbyfox673d ago

Gravity Rush 1 and 2 are amazing can you believe the guy who created Silent Hill created these.

PixelOmen672d ago

Gravity Rush 2 is probably the most underrated game on PS4.

DarXyde672d ago

Agreed. And it was definitely top 5 on the platform for me. Genuinely loved how charming the series is/was.I loved it so much that I Platinumed it twice (Gravity Rush 2 and its Japanese variant, Gravity Daze 2).
Such a lovely series. I say this once every 3 or so months, but Sony committed the gravest sin in my eyes by dismantling my favorite Sony studio, Japan Studio and I really had a hard time forgiving that.

BlaqMagiq1672d ago

Absolute classics, both Gravity Rush 1 & 2.
