Interesting rumors... if true, Nvidia will counter with a new lower end GPU at 350 dollars and/r slash the 2070's price to 400 (or bellow).

That said if this "leak" is to be believed Navi is power hungry and runs hot(at 7nm no less) - not that ideal for consoles with tightly stacked hardware.

purple1012231d ago

Not ideal no. But pcs have many more 'hot' parts to cool.. Namely a huge power supply and much faster / hotter cpu. Makes the whole thing run hot.

opc2230d ago

Consoles have those too.

FanboysKiller2230d ago

You made speculations based on rumors to say the obvious thing,Consumers PC parts don't make any sense when it comes to consoles.

Seeing the same old GCN efficiency problems would be disappointing, albeit not surprising considering it's still based on GCN. Luckily for consoles GCN's efficiency tends to get much better at lower clocks and lower voltages, which is what you'd get in a console anyway.

I know Jim has legitemate sources but at this point there really isn't much of a reason to keep speculating about Navi any further. We'll hear the official version by the end of the month and get all the details a couple months down the line when Navi launches.

that's a good value. if only CUDA wasn't just on nVidia, most of my rendering software make use of CUDA...

Destiny10802230d ago (Edited 2230d ago )

Over a 5 minute Render its like 14 seconds Quicker, the last time I looked

if you want faster rendering you need a better cpu

Malice-Flare2230d ago

i don't use my CPU for rendering 3D graphics...

Bladesfist2230d ago

We heard the same low cost rumours about the Radeon VII and look how that ended up. I don't expect the first few 7nm chips to be cheap until yields improve and the process matures.

The fact that nvidia will be forced to slash is proof nvidia are greedy and rinsing the fanboys

Tempting... but I have to say I am more of an arcade deluxe cab fan. I loved the ones for Galaxy Force, Thunder Blade and After Burner.
