Xbox Possibly Teasing Something Related to Game of Thrones

With the super-popular Game of Thrones TV series heading towards the sunset, looks like Microsoft is teasing something related to it on the Xbox social media channels.

I am one of the two people on earth who hasn’t seen GoT yet. My friends and co-workers are going nuts though.

I think a GoT game, if done well, could be great.

Flynn_Ryder_8971848d ago

I wouldn't bother watching it now. Seasons 1-6 were amazing to good, but the last two have been diabolical. They've been building up a major storyline since season 1, and it's literally just ended with zero payoff. The only reason to watch the final 3 episodes now is that I'm obligated to after nearly ten years of investment.

UltraNova1848d ago

That's exactly how I feel. 6 seasons of building up the WW vs Humans fight and Bran's super-importance for the whole GoT story and what did we get? The most anti-climactic 3 seconds in TV history.

I was left dumbfounded and dissapointed.

Now all thats left is to see how Cersi dies and thats that for GoT.

Eidolon1847d ago

TF you talking about, dude...

xenz1847d ago

Season 7 was great and season 8 has been amazing so far. I don't share your thoughts on this one. But you are of course entitled to your own opinion.

Immorals1847d ago

I'd say seasons 1-4 were incredible, season 5 was horrendously bad, 6 was meh, 7 sucked and 8 is the worst. The ending is worse than dexter and lost combined.

bluefox7551847d ago (Edited 1847d ago )

Agreed. First 6 seasons were great, then everything changed. It's like the discovered time travel in the last season. The pace was sped up way too much, and we missed out on all of the subtle politics from the previous seasons.

FalconofLucis981847d ago

You speak the truth. Dunno why you got so many dislikes. Must be filthy casuals

Nitrowolf21847d ago (Edited 1847d ago )

Yeah after last night episode they could have stretched the fight longer

But then again it’s always been about the iron throne

I still think the season been good so far but it could have done better

Lovable1847d ago

I agree. Was so excited then Season 8 episode 3 happen and lost all interest. What a stupid shit show that was.

Snookies121847d ago

"ended with zero payoff." That's just not true at all. People are whining because things aren't going how they "thought" they would. That's the key word here. They built up ideas in their head about how things would end, and it was wrong. Granted, those ideas might come true in the books. But we have no way of knowing at this point. Not until they're finished. The show writers have to end things, and just because it's not exactly like some really entitled viewers wanted. It's automatically wrong? A lot of what has happened in season 7-8 has been hinted at by past seasons. It's not like they're pulling random ideas. They're still very much using plot threads from previous seasons that WERE based off the books. It's not like they can read G. R. R. Martin's mind about what's coming next. And on his end, he can't very well spoil everything he has planned for his books by telling them every detail on what will happen.

People are so quick to jump on the "hate train", when one or two things don't go as expected in a series. Enjoy it for what it is, and the connection you have with the characters. It shouldn't really matter about the outcome, as long as the journey was enjoyable.

you're absolutely right. People that disagree only care about the big moments like what happened with Arya without caring about how believable it actually is. The show is so much more tropey and clichey since D&D had to take over from where the books left off, but I guess people just have low standards for writing

AirJohnston1847d ago

@Snookies12 I keep seeing yall act like high and mighty like we don't like it because our theories weren't true. I had no theories of what would happen, it's just painfully obvious how much the writing and direction the show's taken over the last couple seasons has suffered. Cheap death fakeouts and putting characters into situations where they normally would die but somehow miraculously survive or get saved at the last minute. Characters making absolutely idiotic decisions just so they can make the plot have a certain moment, even if it's totally out of character for that character. Completely forgetting about things that happened earlier in the show and disregarding certain rules (armor supposedly preventing you from getting stabbed was supposed to be a big one). It's such lazy writing because all they want to do is "subvert expectations" and surprise people, and yall eat it up no matter how much they cheat the story to get to those moments

Mr Marvel1847d ago

Don't listen to negative nancy over there... Game of Thrones is the greatest TV show of all time and season 7(and 8 so far) are arguably the best seasons yet.

A MUST watch show for all.

KillBill1847d ago

This is most likely tied into the prequel series that is coming out later. Makes sense seeing the Targaryen crest.

I dunno. GoT isnt really an action packed kind of fantasy. Story wise, its possible to do something like telltale did, but I think of it's not mainline story, I'm at the point I couldn't care about it.

But, if something really good comes along, I'll give it a go

DaveZero1847d ago

agreed. I would like to see a multiplayer game where you have a commander, your own house, your raise your lands, army's and fight for the iron throne.

Not like the crappy phone games however, one done right in every way.

RosweeSon1847d ago

Nope and if it’s gone to Xbox fine by me just another thing they’ve done this Gen that I have no interest in
Elite controllers
BC 2 years into the Gen (still got my 360)
Kinect 2.0
Duke controllers
Ea access game pass yearly subscriptions for games i wouldn’t play anyway if they were that good I’d have bought them.

The7Reaper1847d ago (Edited 1847d ago )

It's the most overrated show in history

lellkay1846d ago

It's a great show, the older seasons are definitely stronger, but in general the show is awesome. The latest season feels rushed, but even then its still spectacular TV.

It would be interesting to see a Xbox Exclusive Game of Thrones game.

Eidolon1847d ago

Why Xbox exclusive... interesting why?

1847d ago
aconnellan1847d ago

Because the article is about Microsoft testing something.

If it was about Sony teasing something then I’m sure we’d see comments around “it’d be interesting to see a PS exclusive GoT game”

rainslacker1847d ago (Edited 1847d ago )

Because princess Kenny is dead?

CptDville1847d ago

Shut your f-ing face uncle f-er.
Princess Kenny lives in our hearts and souls.

rainslacker1846d ago

Sorry.:( Didn't mean to hit a nerve......NOW GET OUT OF MY GARDEN!!!

bluefox7551847d ago

I disagree, MS ruins everything it touches.

MadLad1847d ago

Oh yes. That's why the were able to gain footing in the gaming market being the young buck, and own the PC OS market.... because they're terrible at what they do.

Sound logic there.

gam3r_4_lif31847d ago

@TRTC yeah that nearly trillion dollar company ruins everything they touch.

I am guessing bluefux755 is not a business aficionado

XtaZ1847d ago

If they ruined everything they touched they wouldnt be a trillion dollar company - so what you actually meant to say was that they got the midas touch where everything they touch turns to gold, right?

Gunstar751847d ago

Show us on the doll where MS touched you

if I had to guess its another branded console, would be nice if it were a game though but I doubt it.

rob-GP1847d ago

I'm calling it - they are putting the TellTale GoT game on Gamepass next month

MultiVersus Devs Are Teasing Another Steven Universe Character

A MultiVersus developer seems to be suggesting that a new Steven Universe character is going to join the roster soon, something that might even have been backed up by leakers.

We're just a few days away from the long-awaited relaunch of MultiVersus and while most of us are just excited to get our hands on the new Season 1 characters like Jason, Joker, Banana Guard, and Agent Smith, that hasn't stopped Player First Games from teasing some future additions.
