Sony Fanboy Here: You Should Buy a Nintendo Switch

Gamesandgraps: "With the exception of a Mega Drive in my early years and several Gameboys (to toast the Elite Four with a high-level Charizard), Andrew has predominantly stuck to the Sony systems."

No I shouldn't. I don't like cartoonist games. The only game that would make me buy a Switch is a decent, serious, mature themed Metroid Prime game and that is not going to happend.

My Playstation 4 satisfy all my gaming needs very well.

EddieNX 2208d ago

Thanks for sharing with us your awful, limited taste in games.

2pacalypsenow2208d ago

Him not liking Zelda or Mario I makes his game taste awful?

Lol

Rimeskeem2207d ago

"Awful, limited taste in games"

You know what playstation is right?

The 10th Rider2207d ago

@2pacalypsenow,

It has nothing to do with whether or not someone likes Mario or Zelda. It's the fact that he's dismissing a large number of games for being "cartoonist". If someone said they have no interest in a PS4 because they don't like "realistic" games it would be just as silly.

himdeel2207d ago

Opinion: Sorry but Sony fanboys might already have a Vita and have been playing games on the go for years already.

Thanks bye

bloop2207d ago

I think Thundercat gave a perfectly valid reason for not wanting a Switch and I don't know why that makes his taste in games awful. If you don't like what Nintendo have to offer, does that immediately mean you have terrible taste now? I liked Nintendo games when I was a child. I'm now a grown man. I'll take a good story driven game with mature elements and gameplay like GOW or TLOU over bouncing on koopas heads any day.

Neonridr2207d ago

@bloop - because there are more than just "cartoonist" games on the system (if that is even a valid word). That's the point that Eddie is making.

bluefox7552207d ago

Maybe he doesn't care about Nintendo games or portability? Not everyone has to share your opinion.

jmtstan2206d ago

Having both system has its perks... but once you're stuck with one game, the other console will collect dust for a while.... like i was playing God of War, left my Switch collecting dust for months, but when Fire Emblem Three house is out, its my PS4's turn to collect dust.. or they both collecting dust since I rarely wipe them.

Well said Thundercat77. Owning more than one console in this day and age just isn't feasible on an emotional level. It's just too much for one man to handle. What if I'm playing my Nintendo Switch and realise I may like enjoy Zelda more than Killzone. The mental gymnastics I'd have to do in my head to justify how I could enjoy a cartoon more than an M rated game could destroy my confidence as a man.

As a strongwilled man it is a risk I cannot take.

Thundercat772208d ago

This has totally nothing to do with confidence as a man. That's crazy!!

This has to do with game arts, styles and quality. After playing games like Witcher 3 and Sekiro, a cartoonist game will simply not make it for me. Is like having a Ferrari and then move to a Toyota Corolla.

kneon2207d ago

Enjoy Zelda more than Killzone? What are you smoking?

Amplitude2206d ago (Edited 2206d ago )

@Thundercat77

what about ratchet and clank ?

Also this entire comment section is super frustrating cause its assuming the only games on Switch are Mario and Zelda. Im literally playing Outlast 2 on Switch right now and im still crazy addicted to Disc Jam. I've got a collection of over 100 games for the Switch and very few of them are cartoony

NecrumOddBoy2208d ago

I bought a Switch for Zelda and played through it. Want to talk about a boring game that requires dozens of hours of mundane work to see it through the end. I really was chasing that "carrot on a stick" but after hundreds of shrines and seeds, I realized it's just an empty physicas based map with phone game-like minigames to play. Holy hell is BOTW bad.

I really am not impressed with the Switch over all. It's devoid of content, a solid online system, and power.

There are some good games but most come to PS4 like Hollow Knight and Celeste (Which I platinum'd).
I really enjoyed Octopath Traveler (which is coming to PC) and what I am going to be pissed about, is if it comes to consoles because I would have rather had it on PS4 as well.

Mario Odyssey was fun but moon hunting became very mundane. Same with Yoshi. These are just collect-athon platformers that have no substance, story or replay value.

My favorite Switch game is hands down GOLF STORY. It was a surprise hit for me. I picked it up because it looked like Mario Golf on GBA but as an RPG, then I realized it's wacky fun and has 3 of my favorite out door things, which is golf, disc golf and ..... GEOCACHING! lol

343_Guilty_Spark2207d ago

Collect a thon vs hack and slash a thon or shoot everything in the face a thon. You can boil over game down to the most simplest thing.

Knushwood Butt2207d ago

Only Nintendo games get praised for it.

gamer78042207d ago

honestly moving to xbox and nintendo for 3rd parties is what more and more people are doing, then using playstation for their exclusives. This due to xbox having 3rd party games look alot better, and nintendo now getting more of the niche Japanese games due to playstation censoring. But its good to see an article where a person knows what each console is good for.

rob-GP2206d ago

So you think people are rushing out to get an Xbox one X (as the S doesn't 'look a lot better'), a Switch, and a PS4... Wouldn't people just grab a PS4 or a Pro and a Switch... They then have all the 3rd party games (which look great on the vast majority of 1080p TVs and even the very small minority of people's 4K TVs), the exclusives, and the Switch games. What are they missing out on? The few bad and boring MS games...

RosweeSon2206d ago

Nah bought my PS4 day1 for exclusives
Same I did with my switch I don’t buy a console for 3rd party games they go to all platforms unless deals are made and even then it’s only normally timed exclusivity

Neonridr2207d ago

that's a little sad. I own both systems and wouldn't give either up.

MoshA2207d ago

Not everyone wants Last of Us clones.

Bleucrunch2206d ago

@Thundercat77 I have all the consoles and I yet I 100% agree with your position because my PS4 is my primary console of choice and she definitely satisfies me.

These folks calling your taste into question because you prefer a PS4, given the library of different games and their respective genre's is easily proof of their trolling and thus their opinions qualify for the reject box.

The nerve of some folks yo, your statement is not even controversial..idiots.

Not until there’s a price cut

Veneno2206d ago

With a pack in game or two.

2208d ago
FallenAngel19842208d ago

I’ve tried my friend’s Switch and liked it, but I still hate how most games are still being sold for full price & the console itself hasn’t had a price cut yet. Couple that with the expensive accessories like additional controllers & Ethernet adapter and I’ll still continue waiting

gamer78042207d ago

Exactly this, their games are so expensive even after a year of being released on top of the expensive accessories.

Zeldafan642207d ago (Edited 2207d ago )

The games and console I agree with but the controllers being a little more expensive is justified. HD rumble, nfc and great battery life make them well worth the extra money.

zombiewombie2207d ago

What about the controllers being crap and constantly disconnecting? Or the analog drift that has been occuring on athe lot of peoples joycons?

Teflon022207d ago

joycon fine but the pro control being more expensive than the ps4 control is pretty ridiculous. I only finally bought a proper control for my switch because I refused to pay that price or these resale prices that are like $10 off. In Canada it's like $90 and tax while PS4 is $69.99 and some $74.99 if a special edition. That's pretty ridiculous seeing the PS4 control is fully featured with everything but this "hd" rumble. But makes up with all the extras it has

RosweeSon2206d ago

I’d take their pro controller over the £100-120 elite controller on Xbox. As for games prices like final fantasy being expensive (blame square) Nintendo prices for new (or even re released deluxe versions) warrant the prices if you don’t wanna pay wait a year or 2 for the selects range that they do on all their consoles. The amount of time you can get out of a rereleased Mario kart 8 for example over some of the yearly churned £40-80 deluxe editions for some digital guff ill take mario kart etc anytime. They make one Mario kart a Gen. Mario odyssey is brilliant up there with galaxy. Love my PS4 tho both great consoles both smashing out great games and even tho I got it day1 yet to check out BOTW but heard nothing but great things from people who actually spend time with the game.

Gemmol2207d ago

Nintendo games are like expensive cars they do not lose value, go trade in Zelda and horizon and see which give you a higher trade value

2207d ago
AspiringProGenji2207d ago

You’ve never bought a car have you?

RosweeSon2206d ago (Edited 2206d ago )

Expensive cars prob bad example tho as
Majority of cars go down in value before you’ve left the forecourt. Unless your buying one of a kind Ferrari’s or something.
However I do agree Zelda games Pokemon really hold their values well so yes they may be expensive but they don’t suddenly drop to £1 trade in like fifa or COD within 1-2 years max because there’s been another 2-3 games since then.
As for robitmus prime it’s great Sony are competitive with their prices but on the other hand they drop the prices on games you’ve paid full price for meaning yours games aren’t worth half of what you paid for them but nintendo hold their prices ie meaning your games keep their value they don’t suddenly become worth half overnight or less. You can resell games after all. But as mention Nintendo games and collectors pay big prices. Works both ways tho you could say Sony are devaluing their consumers trade on values good games hold their prices look at GTA5 sure it’s cheap now... it’s sold 100 million (somewhere like that) copies.
Same with Nintendo now they’ve sold 10 million on a fair few games and once they have a few new ones out what do you know Nintendo selects range.

LoveSpuds2206d ago (Edited 2206d ago )

I agree with this aspect of Nintendo, they really do overcharge for their products, especially their accessories.

Nintendo's consoles are decent enough but the key thing for me, the thing that makes me buy their consoles, I love their games. They compliment my PS4 library so well, I am currently hunting a platinum trophy in Dark Souls and having Super Mario 3D world on my WiiU to dip into as a palette cleanser works a treat for me.

I am off to Budapest on a stag in a few days and having some Mario Kart on my Switch to distract me from the flight is going to be awesome.

RoyalSentinel2206d ago

Nintendo gets away with a lot in my mind because of the brand. I think it's ridiculous to charge a full $60 for ported Wii U games.

EddieNX 2208d ago

Absolutely awesome portable/hybrid system with the best exclusives.

Some really really really good games that aren't available anywhere else.

Any self respecting gamer should have one by now.

2pacalypsenow2208d ago

Not everyone likes Zelda and Mario, I find them boring.

I bought a switch to play Pokémon after finishing that it’s collecting dust.

TheHateTheyGive2207d ago

I find mario and zelda stale, them 2 franchises can take at least 5 years off. Nintendo is all about mario and the countless spin offs.

COD 2025 Rumored to Be Black Ops 7 to See the Return of Wallrunning Per Datamined Files in COD HQ

There's even a video of wallrunning enabled in Black Ops 6 by messing with the game's files.

jjb19816h ago

Id rather have wallrunning than this omni-movement crap where people are sliding backwards upstairs.

FIELDMARSHALL_P5h ago

Just go back to normal human stuff wall running and that omni stuff is too much lol. I was good back in the day but this is too much

franwex5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Wall running while Omni jumping!!

TheColbertinator4h ago

Wallrunning is dirt in FPS games. I can only stand it in action games like Prince of Persia at best.
