Gears of War 2 is definitely one of this year's gaming essentials. Both the campaign and the multiplayer modes have grown to toughen themselves up since last time and that is all you really need to know.
Well ps3 doesn't have any other game which they can put up against Gears of War 2.
http://www.n4g.com/ps3/game... vs. http://www.n4g.com/Xbox360/... This is more accurate than metacritic because this counts all the reviews here.

Including every sh!tty site that isn't able to rate a game. Metacritic only gives the trusted sites that can actually make reviews.

he should have given it a 10/10...he seems like he was in awe of Gears 2. Also, why do these video reviews feel the need to show semi-spoiler in-game footage?

How old are you and how long have you been gaming 2 months or something. Historically Microsoft as a company has always rely on trickery and hype to make their bread and butter, they have always been known to hype the sh*t out of their product only to deliver shabby, broken, underperforming products (RROD, windows 3.11, and every product since). Sony on the other hand spends less on ads and more on R&D and produces quality products and rely on their name brand to sell their products, hence less ads! All you have to do is ask people who have been around longer than 5 years to give you their first thoughts when you think about either company.
