A Musou type of game? Wasn't expecting that. This is gonna rustle some jimmies...

CrimsonPheonix1826d ago

Its sure does. What a bunch of BS. Muso games are easily the worst genre. "Herp Derp I likes 2 push the square button alotz"

Well now the Muso Zelda game was really well done. So, I am excited for this game. As far as the base game, this is a great step towards getting that game on Switch. Beside, with Persona 5 Royal releasing it is highly likely that this was in the works before the Switch got hot. So I would rather this be a new game, then the base version of Persona 5 but for Switch. If anything, this opens the door for Persona 5 Royal Switch. As long as this sales well on Switch I dont see why they wouldnt make that leap.

But, Musuo games aren't just pushing square. The more you level up you unlock greater branching combos with some having charging effects and cancel combos into each other while killing 1000s of enemies and you typically get local co-op on them as well. I never understand the hate for musuo games because they are all gameplay first in a beat-em-up style.

HAHAAH it sure is gonna rustle some jimmies. Relax Nintendo fans, I'd be willing to bet P5R will come to the switch either eventually or right away.

I don't know whether to be excited or not. Never played Dynasty Warriors or any games in the same genre, so I'm just a tad underwhelmed. I'll definitely buy it as Persona is my favourite video game series and I've enjoyed all the previous spin-offs, but I'm not really sure what to expect.

Abriael1826d ago

Since this is a musou/RPG hybrid, the closest examples are games like Fire Emblem Warriors or Dragon Quest Warriors. The RPG elements make it quite a bit different from straight Dynasty/Samurai Warriors games.

I'll have to check out Fire Emblem Warriors and Dragon Quest Warriors to become more educated about what Scramble will be like. At the very least, I have confidence in it being good, and I am somewhat pleased about it being on Switch.

Base Muso games by themselves arent so hot. But the Muso crossover games tend be to really good.

It'll likely be between extella link and Dragon quest heroes.

FallenAngel19841826d ago

Persona 5 itself was originally going to be an action rpg

TheColbertinator1826d ago

Persona 5 comes to Switch. Sorta.

Still hoping for a Steam release of P5 or P5R but that might take another year or so.

Scramble looks ok.

ReVibe1826d ago

PC and Switch ports. Why can't the fans just have what sells?

Persona 5 Scramble (PS4) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Thomas Froehlicher: "Fans of Atlus' legendary JRPG will be thrilled to find in Persona 5 Scramble a true sequel. Even in a very different genre, the Koei Tecmo-developed title extends Persona 5's enjoyment in a remarkable way, and it represents much more than a simple milking of Persona 5's universe. Persona 5 Scramble makes clever use of the 'Warriors' gameplay while maintaining the spirit of the original title at all times, which includes rich mechanics and stellar storytelling. These numerous important, positive qualities fortunately make up for some outdated visuals. Let's just hope Atlus strives to improve on that aspect with its future releases."

Great list but I'm not in any rush to play Genshin Impact. I hear it's going to be gatcha hell game with pretty makeup on.

DarkZane1311d ago

Granblue Fantasy Re:Link ... although I am starting to think this is just never coming out at this point. Also, I would have put Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel IV.

Elda1311d ago

I definitely looking forward to playing these 3 first... FFXVI,Granblue Fantasy:Relink & Persona 5 Scramble though I am interested in Scarlet Nexus & Tales Of Arise as well.

Well done for Atelier Ryza. The best RPG I played in 2019!

Hakuoro1367d ago

Cool, Atelier is one of my favorite series, i'm glad Ryza sold so well.

Knightofelemia1367d ago

Koei Tecmo one of my fave studios would love an HD remaster of the Ar Tonelico/Ar Nosurge collection. I would also like a new Dynasty Warriors Gundam game along with an HD remaster of the Dynasty Gundam games and a Blue Reflection 2.
