Persona 5 Royal for PS4 Details New Content, New Characters, Features, and Improved Graphics

Following the full reveal of Persona 5: The Royal (or Persona 5 Royal as it's titled in the west) during the Persona Super Live P-Sound Street 2019, Atlus provided a ton of new detail and artwork.

Wouldn't make much sense, otherwise it would just be an update and everyone would run out and buy an older copy of the game. Would be a terrible business decision.

There isn't. Atlus has confirmed this. Detailed in Japanese on their JP website. So you either buy the game over again or don't play it.

There should definitely be a way to upgrade if you already own the original. I don't see how anyone could argue this.

Have you tried Vanilla P4 and P4G? The content that had been added to the OG P4 is insane and is worth it.

I'm just trying to figure out what's actually new In this game storywise? Is it an expansion with story after what takes place in the end of p5 or is it the same game just a little upgraded ?

There's a new semester added to the game its appears to be taking after the end game. There will also be new characters, locations and new character (party member?)

Agreed this is total bullshit. It makes sense why they didn't patch the current version to take advantage of the pro. Just another thing they can lock behind the new version so people like us have to rebuy the game entirely. It's their loss though because this would be a day 1 purchase for me as an upgrade or dlc.

I hope Atlus has the sense of adding this as a DLC.
If not, this really disappointing considering I have 200+hrs on this game with maxed our confidants, skills and persona compendium which will go to waste.
I do not want to spend 200+ hrs redoing what I have already done in the original game.
