For cosmetics, they didn’t lock fighters behind anything like other games.......if you do not care for cosmetics like you did not care growing up playing mortals Kombat then grinding and loot box not a big deal

It's a shame that they and a few others gave it such a high score. The places that gave it a 7/10 are spot on. This game doesn't deserve a score this high when they have screwed up the progression so bad. When you get your hands on the game you'll see what all of us who are saying this are talking about. A message needs to be sent and giving the game 9/10 scores isn't how you send it.

And why should they lower the score because you have to grind to get COSMETIC items?
I guess they could go the SF route and charge for every costume they create.

It's funny that since Loot boxes came out, ppl complained about the Krypt in MK X and this one.
Yet, the Krypt system (with the Kurrency) has been a staple of the franchise since MK5 on PS2 and at the time it was praised for the almost never-ending supply of things to unlock.

Because the grind is way to big. It takes too long to get simple items. Customization is a huge part of the game now.

There’s a big difference between earning cosmetics and making unlocking them so painfully slow you may as well just buy the ones you want. In this case is what it is. It’s not balanced.

No need to get all butt hurt because the game has features a lot of people don’t like.

Look I don't care to hear your defense for their poor decisions in this game. The fact of the matter is they designed it to encourage you to buy the currency. Not only that but many of the Towers are near impossible to beat making it so you can't unlock content from them unless you pay for items to skip the harder fights. You shouldn't design your game so that only the people with no life who play games all day every day have a shot at unlocking your content.

Can you buy currency at the moment? Last I check the answer was no! so perhaps the judgment should be passed for when that feature exists.
And if I follow your logic then I guess GOD of war should be slammed because let's be honest to get the special Avatar you must unlock all trophies in the game Talk about no Life.
Actually What about the mist Armor or any things related to the Furies? again no life?

And like I said in the previous post
what about MK5 Kombat koins systems and 600+ unlock?, MK Deception? MK Armageddon?, MK9?

I have it preordered, and it unlocks at 12. You kind of have me worried now. What's wrong with the progression?

It takes too long to earn currency which encourages you to pay for it instead and many of the living towers are just impossible to beat. I'm talking 1v3 fights with bad modifiers that only affect you. You have to beat these towers to unlock many of the cosmetic items.

Bro I have been playing mortal kombat since the 2nd game. Which by the way I played in the arcades back in - 92-93 when I was a kid. This new game as a disgrace to us fans who know what we want and Ed Boon knows what the fan base wants. Why design a fighting game to charge its fans money for things we always achieved for free by challenging the game in a fun way. Also there's a great deal of SJW material in there, mainly the stories and endings.
