I've been hearing some bad things about Nintendo Russia recently. First their tyrant CEO and now this. I feel bad for the team being screwed over

wonderfulmonkeyman1831d ago

What could Nintendo have done about their visa issues?
Genuinely curious, not being snarky...

goodwin1831d ago

The Russian office was responsible for the team's visas and took too long to process all stuff. Although Nintendo Russia head Yasha Haddaji says they did all they could, the guys lost their chance to go to the European Cup, which they qualified for. That really sucks.

wonderfulmonkeyman1831d ago

Ick, yeah, that does suck.
Weren't they working on replacing the Nintendo Russia prez, after some bad stuff came out about his treatment of employees?
Whatever happened with that?

goodwin1831d ago

That's Yasha Haddaji you are referring to. Well, nothing happened. There was an investigation, but he's still there.

wonderfulmonkeyman1831d ago

Ugh. If this were the states or even Japan, he'd have been booted and replaced by now...

Michiel19891830d ago

@wonderfulmonkey so as you stated before you didnt know what was going on with the russian guy but you heard rumors. There was an investigation and hes still there and you come to the conclusion that he should be replaced. Shit like this is how false rumors get spread and innocent people's names get slandered.

Imagine trusting a big company to process your Visa because they can fasttrack approvals. Then they processed it in the last minute.

Michiel19891830d ago

Just because it's a big company doesn't mean they get an auto-pass for visas. Dota 2 tourneys on a far bigger scale and much more money at stake also still have visa issues. Also smash bros has the disadvantage of not being the biggest scene when it comes to e-sports which may or may not impact how easily you can acquire a visa for it.
