PlayStation 5 And Next Xbox Could Be Last Consoles You Ever Own

With its debut, Stadia has forced tech experts to think about the future of gaming.

Microsoft's next Xbox and Sony's PlayStation 5 are due to drop next year, with both devices promising incredible graphics and powerful processors.

However, as exciting as all that sounds, these two consoles could well be the last of their kind.

Another Gen, another console doom and gloom prediction...

Forced these companies to think with the release of Stadia.

Yeah. PSNOw is going on what....6-7 years now?

MS announced xCloud months before Google had their beta, so they were obviously already thinking about it.

Sometimes I wonder if these journalist really pay attention to what's going on, or just think that big news always causes these kinds of reactions from major corporations who make plans that could take 5-10 years before they come to fruition. MS especially is a very forward thinking company, and have plans in place that can span 20 odd years. I remember when the first Xbox was being talked about before release, and MS talked about where they wanted to be in 20 years. For the most part, they actually achieved some of that, although I think they faltered on preventing Sony getting a major foothold in people's living rooms.

They said that about the consoles this gen but look how that turned out.

Godmars2901831d ago

They said that about them during the prior gen, when Xbox was in the supposed industry leader.

Weren’t those so called “experts” saying the same thing about the PS4 and XB1? Also, how is an unproven product like the Stadia making them think about anything?

senorfartcushion1831d ago

Google didn't demo a streaming platform then. This is different.

AnubisG1831d ago

They said this about the PS3 and X360 as well. They will be right one day....maybe in a 50-100 years🤣

rainslacker1830d ago

Why was Stadia forcing these companies to think about something they were already doing and have had running for years, or obviously had been working on for a while, with enough lead time to announce the project before Stadia ever had their beta?

It's not about it being unproven. Unproven tech can upset the balance. But in this case, the balance isn't being upset by Google. Google is just joining the fray in what will be a competing market. A market to which they have two known gaming brands competing. Google has ONE OF the largest social networks on earth. MS has THE LARGEST social network on earth(Live), coupled with the most entrenched operating system in the world, supplemented by a well known and long standing gaming brand. Google has more to prove, and more of an uphill battle than both MS and Sony combined.

This is the same bull**** that was said during the PS3 and 360 days. Gaming journalists are absolute ****

Best for the money is the Arc cards

just_looken1d 5h ago

In the past yes but last gen amd has gotten cheaper and there new cards are on the horizon making 6k even cheaper.

The arc cards are no longer made by intel but asus/asrock has some the next line battlemage is coming out prices tbd.

Do to the longer software development its always best to go amd over intel if its not to much more money even though intel is a strong gpu i own 2/4 card versions.
