Apple may be spending 'hundreds of millions' to land games for Arcade

They certainly have the money to do so. Though a traditional gaming console would’ve been interesting, for Apple it makes sense to get revenue from their existing users.

I have an iPhone myself, and I’m a gamer, but they have yet to intice me to actually want to download or buy any games from the App Store. All my gaming needs are covered by consoles. I guess they are after my dollars and with this service they think they can actually get it.

Unless they offer something truly extraordinary I doubt they will be able to convince me, but we will find out soon enough.

Tempting... but I have to say I am more of an arcade deluxe cab fan. I loved the ones for Galaxy Force, Thunder Blade and After Burner.
