New Days Gone Gameplay - 21 Things You Didn't Know

Playstation Access has been to Bend Studio for a look into the development of the open world action adventure survival horror game. With new gameplay footage, here are 21 things you probably didn't know about Days Gone.

Jin_Sakai1698d ago (Edited 1698d ago )

Looking better every time I see new gameplay. Can’t wait.

NarutoFox1698d ago (Edited 1698d ago )

This looks really good. Sleeper hit incoming

sizeofyou1698d ago

Hardly a sleeper though. Been promoted for years and a well known established studio. It may be a new IP but it won't be a surprise if this does very well...

sprinterboy1698d ago

Apart from watching the 1st trailer the other day I'm going in Day1 blind. Way too many trailers get released these days showing to much.
I'm still a big 44yr old kid

ArchangelMike1697d ago

I wish I had gone into this one blind. But unfortunagly I've seen every clip and article that has come out about Days Gone. It is a much better experience when you just go in with zero expectations like a kid with a new present at Christmas. I remember when I was a kid and I would buy a game just because I liked the look of the front cover. Ico, Herdy Gerdy, Vagrant Story, Micro Maniacs, even Metal Gear Solid etc etc. No reviews, no walkthroughs, no - "21 things you need to know about..." I just loved playing games.

It also meant that I played and enjoyed a much broader range of games, - mind you the world hadn't been taken over by 1st person shooters back then. Then in the playstation 2 days, I started reading review mags, and it all slowly began to change, the "review score" and the reviewers opinion inevitably started to filter the games I would choose to play, and funnel me down a gaming path.

*sigh* sometimes I wish I could go back to those days...

Days Gone indeed :)

sprinterboy1697d ago

Well said, I still do buy games from just the front cover, the latest one being f2p "path of exile" and "mutant year zero:Road to Eden" both great titles, hell even overcooked was great with the family over Xmas.
Is it me or do gamers today normally like 2 or 3 genres ie , BR, bro shooters and f2p/loot shooters. I definitely think we enjoyed more variety back in the day (I feel old).
I used to get excited reading the manual and getting the free poster out and looking at the map on the bus on the way home with a notepad to write stuff down as I progressed through the game, ie locker codes, door codes etc.
Those were the days

KickSpinFilter1697d ago (Edited 1697d ago )

Ya I started to play this vid then I stopped it, enough vids just time to wait for release.
To think it all started with Sears Pong...crazy to watch this hobby grow into what it is today from nothing.

sprinterboy1697d ago

Gaming has literally saved my life, with stress and anxiety issues.

KickSpinFilter1696d ago

Absolutely!! After a whole day working with crappy salesman, IT issues, Prepress, Wife, Daughter etc. Video Games have always been a great stress reducer paired with a great IPA!

AmUnRa1697d ago (Edited 1697d ago )

Spinterboy, Same for me... But i am a few years older, i started gaming in 1978, and still a gamer, its my hobby for the biggest part of my life. And i am still going strong.

Love Days Gone and will buy it day one. One thing you can say about the PS4 and Sony, they deliver on the gamefront big time. And that is why you have a gamingconsole, to game...the rest is not so important.

ArchangelMike1697d ago (Edited 1697d ago )

Ahhh... 1978! It was a great year to be born wasn't it?! Although that would make you 41? 42 at the most? I think sprinterboy still has a year or so ahead of you.

Hey I'm just saying, don't rush it. Enjoy your 'youth' while you can. After all they do say "life begins at 40...."

😆

The_Sage1697d ago (Edited 1697d ago )

I believe he said he started gaming in 78. That's the same year I did. A little strange to think about. I've been playing video games for 41 years.

sprinterboy1697d ago (Edited 1697d ago )

1981 I started atari console gaming and amstrad cpc 464, 1st console game I ever played @home was "pong". 1984, 1st computer game I ever played @home was "spanner man"
Edit: I was 6/7years old, about 38years of gaming and finally VR is getting to where I imagined all those years ago.
My god has it been that long, things have certainly changed around here. I remember when this was all farm land as far as the eye could see. Old man peabody owned all of this, he had this crazy idea about breeding pine trees.

AmUnRa1696d ago

No Arc, i was not born 1978, i started gaming in 1978.

I think that i am an exeption , i'am still gaming and i will for years to come, i was born in 1958😉

sprinterboy1697d ago

1978 wow, you beat me by 3years 1981 and I too still love a console or game launch event.
I still get the notepad out with some genres even though you can access these things in menus nowadays.
I do think were spoilt these days even though some of the hate lately EA, MT in full priced games is unacceptable and half baked games as a service BS.

ArchangelMike1697d ago (Edited 1697d ago )

True story - the first online multiplayer game I ever played was Doom. I had to save up about £100 for a 14.4 modem. It took about 5mins to dial into the bbs (bulletin board system) with a screeching sound, and another 15 minutes to actually connect to the game.
Those where the days, good times indeed 😆

The_Sage1696d ago (Edited 1696d ago )

Loved the reference in your previous post sprinterboy. Lol

I started gaming in 1978 on a Magnavox Odyssee.

KickSpinFilter1697d ago

Oh my god this looks good, every time I see it it looks better.
I do think it's time to stop reading up on this gonna stop video now.

Days Gone | Trailer [GOG]

Days Gone is now available DRM-free from GOG

shinoff218337d ago

Such a fun ass game. I enjoyed it alot more then I thought I would.

ravens5237d ago

We need a part 2 doesn't even have to be Deacon. But I had no problems with him either, he was a dude on a mission.

Cacabunga37d ago

My second favorite PS4 game after RDR2 hands down

neutralgamer199237d ago

I think with Jim Ryan gone we may get a sequel down the road. It has become a cult classic

andy8537d ago

This was so fun I love the hoards. People need to stick with it because the start is very slow

MrDead37d ago

Has a really good PC port too, I wasn't expecting much from this game but I had a blast. Wish it had a part 2 as the story was building well.

jznrpg37d ago

It does take some time to get some weapons ,skills and a few bike upgrades up to feel like you got a rhythm going but then it really starts to click and the game is a lot of fun

shinoff218337d ago

I was sad when it ended. I wanted more. I'd have to look but I think that was one of the few games I platinumed to. I only got like 4. I don't go out of my way for trophies though

Abnor_Mal37d ago (Edited 37d ago )

@shinoff same I only have 4 plats and one is Days Gone, and I also don’t go out of my way for platinums.

Was a very fun game and wish there would be a sequel, maybe one day they will come back to it with a different pitch that Sony will approve.

They probably rejected it he sequel because it might not have been the direction they were going for with gaas games and the like.

jznrpg37d ago

@shinioff I had the same feeling when I got the platinum. I need more. Hopefully they make a sequel and leave multiplayer out of it unlike the last pitch for Days Gone2.

got_dam37d ago

The critical reception had Sony relegate Bend to a support studio. Thank God the fans spoke up and Sony reversed that decision.
