The developers at Obsidian didn't shy from revealing how much of a challenge has been trying to make The Outer Worlds with the amount of time they had.

Hopefully it doesn't ship with the amount of bugs some past Obsidian games have.

Alexious2275d ago

Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Witcher 3 didn't ship with a ton of bugs.

TheColbertinator2275d ago

@Alexious

Those two had tons of bugs at release. Including loading issues.

porkChop2275d ago

@Alexious

That's not entirely true. Witcher 3 was extremely buggy at launch. It was a month before most of that was fixed. I mean just look up YouTube videos about it.

LucasRuinedChildhood2275d ago

What a bullshit response. You'd be hard pressed to find a game that's as buggy as Fallout: New Vegas was at launch, today and back when it released.

ShadowWolf7122274d ago (Edited 2274d ago )

Fallout New Vegas also had a RIDICULOUSLY short turnaround time for Obsidian, imposed by Bethesda.

And yet was still better than any Bethesda-developed Fallout title.

what bugs? youre confusing them with bethesda and their horrible optimized engine that they made them use for fallout new vegas

TheColbertinator2275d ago

I love Obsidian but their glitched filled games are all over the last two decades.

Alpha Protocol
Star Wars KOTOR II
Neverwinter Nights 2

Even they've admitted as such

I wish people would give them more time, Bethesda really laid into them aswell which is a shame because despite how little time they had New Vegas was a great little gem, imagine if they were allowed 3-4 years.

DaDrunkenJester2275d ago

Hopefully MS can give them their proper time. . . They say they will, but we will see.

DaDrunkenJester2275d ago

@NoHank

Yes I know, but I'm talking about future games from Obsidian or any concurrent game they're making for MS. Obviously this game is too far into development and the contract for a delivered game is already signed.

Mirdus2274d ago

Blame the publishers, Devs would love nothing more but time, but publishers keep telling em to hurry the F up

PiNkFaIrYbOi2274d ago

When you are paying for the game to be made of course you want it completed faster to save on costs. So it isn't like it is a totally unreasonable request to have a game done sooner rather than later and stuff.

Nobody wants a game to go into developmental hell.

ShadowWolf7122274d ago

@PiNKFairYbOI
Sony seems to be doing just fine giving their teams plenty of time to get a game done. Their devs do better work as a result.

It's very doable, dude.

timotim2275d ago

This game will be looked at heavily by the industry and gamers alike. I think it's in Obsidian's best interest to take their time with it and make it everything its suppose to be. That will lead right into whatever they do next.

ZaWarudo2275d ago

Wish they had all the time they need. The game looks really sweet so far.

KaiPow2275d ago

Maybe this will be the last great FPS RPG to drop on this console generation.

franwex2275d ago

Or maybe cyberpunk...?

Or it could just be the same as outer worlds 1. No changes just direct sequel.

Both are going to underperform.
