Anthem Vs. The Division 2, Who Did It Better?

The first few months of 2019 has started off with a bang, with several high-profile releases. Anthem and The Division 2 was atop the most acclaimed releases, both following the looter-shooter system popularized by the Borderlands series and the live service model that has become increasingly more prevalent among publishers. However, which is better? Does Anthem soar to heights beyond The Division 2's reach or does Ubisoft latest game topple BioWare's game? Let's find out.

Anthem did better, I was so good that my ps4 stop working. Division 2 isn't on the same page how dare they give me a fully working game on release.

I love them both. I do like the gameplay and story better in Anthem. But Division 2 does loot so much better. I also enjoy coop more in Division 2 since the AI is so punishing you really need to work together more. I would give the edge to Division 2 since the loot system is just so much better and while Anthem Gameplay is more free and fun, Division 2 still has amazing gameplay, where Anthem's loot system is garbage.

im also a mech suite junky own the gundam wing dvd series my fav anime series and ive been an Iron man fan since 1985 still have some of the comics. but division 2 is far better than anthem. anthem is a complete joke of a game.

The division 2 seems much harder to solo than Anthem so personally I will play Anthem more .

Honestly it's not THAT much harder...it just takes longer to complete the missions because you have to be more calculated.

I'm on level 17 in The Division 2 & been playing solo from the very beginning,it can get a little hectic but that's when you use your skills (drone & turret) along with being very cautious & covering.

Same here except im level 22. I’ve done absolutely everything so far solo and haven’t had much of a problem. It’s crazy how much content there is in this game. I’ve already put 30 hours into it and I’m only 53 percent through the story and even less for side missions,projects,bounties etc not to mention the end game which is freaking robust as hell it is truly mind blowing

At launch Division 2 did it better then Anthem and Destiny 1 and 2. They were all bare bones at launch.

I'll say this. Lore anf gameplay wise Anthem is awesome. I waetched D2 and the dude/s with mask are NO joke. Lol

I haven't played enough of Div2 to make a proper assessment, but I have put in over 5 hours. As for Anthem, I have been playing it since launch, and have over 60 hours logged (which isn't much compared to some).

In any case.

I've found Div2 to be rather soulless. The gameplay, content options, mechanics, and server stability are all very good, and clearly better than Anthem. However, the story is pretty bare bones bad. Each mission cutscene (where they are) is quite poor in presentation, and even though you just arrived in DC, they talk to you as if you have been there since the beginning. They seemingly know you, and don't even have to provide ANY sort of instruction on how to do missions.

It works as a game, and as I said, does a lot better out of the gate than Anthem. But I've found myself enjoying Anthem far more. It's just more fun overall. I played Div2 last night for 4 straight hours, and found myself wanting to play Anthem again. So I swapped over.

With that said though, I'll still be putting more hours into Div2 for the time being since I only just got it last night. My assessment may very well change by the time I get to endgame. But who knows. They're too different overall to truly compare.

I haven't played it, but from what I've read and impressions from my friends, The Division 2 is a genuine improvement over the first one, and the first one was much improved after patching. But neither Division 1 and 2 nor Destiny 1 and 2 were as undercooked at launch as Anthem.
