You know, even if I always seem to whine a lot of chinese games, that's because I actually want the devs to acknowledge their game's faults and learn them on the next game.

And putting that aside, I can safely say that this game will be one of the good ones, up there with Lost Soul Aside, Icey and Hardcore Mecha. Played this on Steam last month and it's super fun. My only gripes are 1)the somewhat uneven difficulty spike, and 2)usage of re-used/stolen assets.

I think the main problem is that they're making games look visually stunning but mechanically unpolished. Nailing the gameplay to be near perfect is difficult but I feel like Indies put more polish into their games than your typical Chinese devs atm.

Finally, someone understand it. Everytime I say something like that, I get instantly disliked, even if I was just offering my point of view on the whole matter, and it does not mean that I downright hate chinese developers.

Anyway, I agree with what you said. I don't there are bad that many chinese games on consoles (I can only think maybe 5 or 6 out of all the 30-40 chinese console games) since there for the most part, the games we got are mostly average/mediocre, with a few decent ones like Icey and Shio. I can see chinese developers' true potential, but like what you said, they're focusing a bit too much on style than on substance, and as a result, these kinds of games tend to be forgotten very quickly. Just look at what happened with games like Hidden Dragon, Gene Rain, Walker, Unearthing Mars, Code 51, and such.

Personally, all I want from China is a fighting game, a monster hunting game, a horror game with usage of mythology (Walker failed to do that) and an actual good moba game that actually has original characters and isn't just stolen assets from LoL or other popular mobas.

Chinese devs are still learning in a way since they've not got the experience of the West or Japan when its comes to development. If they want to be respected on a global level they will, like you said, have to gain experience in game design and stop using stolen assets. They've got some early talent showing the capability but their success may not be realized globally if they refuse to follow foreign laws.

I think China is going to become similar to Korea. Korea loves persistent online games that plan to exist for years and China looks to be going the same route with the most popular games in the country consisting of things like League, Dota and Hearthstone.
