indeed.. game looks amazing, I just want to play this right now...

Wish they were doing a demo

sampsonon2285d ago

yeah, it looks like they have improved since the last game.
if the story is good it should be fun,

Tech52284d ago (Edited 2284d ago )

It looks great. also seems more on a tighter budget than the game before.
I wonder if the cast and location will be as limited this time.

UltraNova2284d ago

I'm sure QB's budget was inflated thanks to the TV episodes tie in and that Control has the same or close to the former's budget as well.

NarutoFox2285d ago

Why are you getting disagrees?

sampsonon2285d ago

now you've just unlocked the disagrees floodgate lol

fr0sty2285d ago (Edited 2285d ago )

The differences are major, in the areas the tech is advertised to affect. RTX doesn't do full scene ray tracing. Reflection and shadow details are the main thing this generation of RTX cards were designed to help, and in those areas, they are producing results that no card in the previous generation could ever dream of touching. You aren't going to get the full benefits of full scene ray tracing for a couple generations to come, it is too computationally expensive, so this hybrid approach of some elements being rasterized while others are ray traced is as good as we can hope for the time being. Worth upgrading to a new card? Probably not if you own the last gen cards, the tech is still in its infancy, but it does what it claims to do very well. They never advertised it as much more than better reflections, GI and shadows.

tontontam02285d ago (Edited 2285d ago )

Yup there is no huge difference we don't care about graphics any more bring us framerates and high resolution it is more important. Developers should just stop improving game graphics. Current gen graphics is enough just increase the resolution to 10000k.

sampsonon2285d ago

you don't care about graphics? go play hangman, it runs at a smooth 120fps.

tontontam02284d ago

@sampsonon

We pc gamers prioritize fps, we turn off useless settings, we don't need realistic lightings actually we bump gamma or brightness so we can clearly see enemies. We don't care about the intended atmosphere the devs want to show us we just need to see tha target so we can hit them. That's why I play counter strike on very low settings on my ultra high end pc because it can do high fps at 4k and gamma is set to unnatural levels so I have the advantage in dark areas.

luckytrouble2285d ago (Edited 2285d ago )

RTX in a nutshell. It's basically a buzz word right now. Nvidia wants everyone to go all big eyed whenever someone mentions that fabled word "raytracing" when its impact is so minor, you see with and without side by side and just kind of go "so?".

It's simply a Nvidia tactic to get people to buy the newest and greatest. Wouldn't help them much if they actually had to admit their latest expensive cards are essentially no better than last gen's expensive cards. So instead we get a new buzzword to really push sales and accomplish next to nothing else.

starchild2284d ago

I don't agree. I have been playing Metro Exodus on my PC with ray traced global illumination and it is a huge difference in terms of the realism and accuracy of the lighting and shading. I mean, if you're one of those imperceptive types who only looks at the pretty colors and the art in a game and don't have an eye for detail then I guess most graphical improvements won't be fully appreciated. To my eye, though, it's a significant leap forward in real time graphics. On par with physically based rendering in terms of its positive impact on game visuals.

Kingdomcome2472285d ago

I'm a big fan of Remedy, and Sam Lake's writing style. I'll definitely be getting this game, and it's certainly beautiful. As far as the raytracing implementation goes, I can see the difference, and what it can potentially bring to the table, but it definitely still seems to me as though it's a technology that is still in it's infancy somewhat. I'm curious as to what kind of effect it has on performance, and whether or not the benefits outweigh any potential drawbacks.

I_am_Batman2285d ago

Looks good but the denoising doesn't seem to work properly on the shadows most notably on the last scene.

eh?
They better not mess much with the Max Payne Remake(s)

Yui_Suzumiya211d ago

Yeah but this was announced before the Max Payne Remake after all

LucasRuinedChildhood211d ago (Edited 211d ago )

What does "unlocking some previously released content" actually mean though? I would imagine it should be "previously unreleased content". Bit odd.

DaReapa211d ago

Right. Especially since the Ultimate Edition supposedly contained everything.

raWfodog211d ago

I only played about an hour of Control when I added it to my library back when it was one of the PS+ ‘free’ games. I’ll start it over again after the early 2025 update is dropped. I keep hearing that it’s a good game.

jznrpg211d ago

You can make that statement for any game. It’s called gameplay loop. Not everyone is going to enjoy the same loops but all games are repetitive by nature

RedDevils211d ago

Agree it was very boring game. Could not get into it. Remember me the game I played on PS3 is still better than this.

Chocoburger211d ago

These days "RPG" translates to constantly grinding for experience points, wasting time upgrading gear, and repeatedly collecting resources off the ground.

Please don't be an Ubishit style filler game.

Yui_Suzumiya211d ago

Hopefully it'll be more like Mass Effect

Amplitude211d ago (Edited 211d ago )

Remedy doesn't really make mistakes. It'll be good, I'm sure.

Inverno211d ago

So in other words it's an action game needlessly fluffed out with RPG mechanics and a pointless leveling system. I really enjoy RPGs when they're actually RPGs but modern action games really tire me out when they shoehorn in mechanics they don't need. All this does is make a 20 hour game into a 40 hour game because missions become locked behind level requirements, and enemies become damage sponges. It's not fun, it's tedious.

Remedy is leaving Epic in the dark place to self-publish Control 2

Remedy will self-publish Control 2 as part of a new "strategic cooperation agreement" with Annapurna. A press release accompanying the announcement says Annapurna will provide half of Control 2's development budget, and in return gains the rights to adapt Control and Alan Wake for film and television.

TheNamelessOne294d ago

Devs backing EPIC didn't last long. I just can't understand why ... /s

porkChop293d ago (Edited 293d ago )

This isn't about the store. Epic published the game on all platforms. They want to self publish because they couldn't recoup Alan Wake 2's budget.

Killer2020UK293d ago

...because Epic chose to restrict its PC release to the Epic store and completely restrict it's physical release until later this year.

Vits293d ago

It’s connected, though. They couldn’t recoup the costs because Epic restricted the places and formats where the game could be released, literally removing the biggest PC distribution channels from the equation. And they also sold the game cheaper than a traditional full release, solely to support their statements at the launch of the Epic Games Store that PC games would be cheaper if it weren’t for Steam.

RaidenBlack293d ago

Dang, nice ... Alan Wake II is an amazing game
Can't wait for Control 2 and Max Payne Remakes

DustMan293d ago

Not sure why your getting down voted because you found Alan Wake 2 amazing. I'm in the same boat as you. Can't wait for Control 2 & the Max Payne remakes. Max Payne 1 & 2 were some of my favorite pc games from my early teens lol.

RaidenBlack293d ago

Coz N4G logic.
You cant praise a game if its got no physical release, not releasing on PS etc

isarai293d ago

Maybe this time we'll actually get a day 1 physical release

JEECE293d ago

And hopefully Steam/GOG options on PC.

PS5 Non-Exclusives That Feature Fantastic Haptic Feedback

Sifu, Control, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and others, despite being third-party games, offer best-in-class haptic feedback on the PS5.

CrimsonWing69339d ago

I think the GTA V PS5 upgrade has some impressive haptic feedback and other utilization of the dual sense features.

Like, rain hitting you has a distinct feel, parts of the road do as well, fun fire feels crunchy and different depending on the gun (SMG vs Shotgun, for ex.), but I always get a kick out of the phone conversations coming out of the controller and if you have the lights off in the room and the fuzz is chasing you the controller does a good job of doing the red and blue lights that kind of light up the room and just add to the fun.

LucasRuinedChildhood339d ago

Borderlands 3 makes very good use of the triggers. Each gun feels unique.

chicken_in_the_corn338d ago

One of the best features of the ps5
