Today Koei Tecmo released a new trailer of its upcoming Dead or Alive spinoff game Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet.

DMC V got censored and let’s be real, nobody is getting their rocks off to this stuff. The point is censorship. Nobody wants to have the “censored version” plain and simple. It could be violence, language, nudity, whatever but I’d be pissed if I got the censored version of anything.

It’d be one thing if this was how it was across all platforms but the fact that this is Sony specifically is just stupid. It’d be like if Sony had a theatre and I’m going to see Wolf of Wall Street there and it’s R rated but then they took out all the nudity. I don’t need Sony to play the parent and treat me like a kid covering my eyes at certain scenes. These are M rated games or the equivalent of R ratings so leave the stuff in and uncensored.

i dont get it ... they dont censor movies being sold on psn ... they dont censor streaming services ... this content is available on their platform and they are just bullying game devs into removing it .. its not even nudity just slightly more skin ! ...
hope this goes to xbox one x as well, it's becoming my choice for 3rd party anyway ...

So far this censorship only hits Japanese games. The reason why Sony has been my main platform since 1998 was because of Japanese games.

For the first time in my life I'm buying multi-plat games on other platforms. It already paid off with Devil May Cry V.

There was actually a pinball game from the west that got censored. One of the graphics for the back of the machine featured a scantily clad woman.

Some are also speculating that it will hit Cyberpunk, but I am dubious, because they didn't force R* to remove the nudity in that game, and it was more pronounced, although not near as ubiquitous as you'd see in DOAX. But, DMC doesn't really have that much in the way of inappropriate content, and even what is there, is so mild in comparison to any number of primetime TV shows, it baffles me they even bothered to ask for it to be censored. I can see it on some of the anime stuff, but I still don't agree with it.
