Games Overlooked by the Game Awards

KeenGamer: "No way is everyone happy with the nominee selections at The Game Awards (unless you're Kojima). Everyone has games they think deserve their spot, and we've compiled plenty here. Just because a game wasn't nominated doesn't mean it doesn't deserve some recognition! So peruse our selection of games that the Game Awards overlooked."

Blasphemous in particular is phenomenal!

Nacho_Z1646d ago

Yeah great game. I would have been happy enough if it was a short but bloody hack and slash but it turned out to be a fully fledged deep Metroidvania with excellent platforming.

It's probably the game I enjoyed the most in 2019 so if that makes it my GotY so be it.

I think astral chain and days gone deserves more acknowledgement

While it already features in two categories, I still think Shadowbringers got robbed for not being in the story one while MK11 makes it.

Spenok1645d ago

Yeah, that is some complete BS right there. Shadowbringers was absolutely amazing. Best expansion pack for an MMO ever by far.

Very good list. A lot of fantastic indie games came out this year.

The Game Awards is only good for the game trailers which means their picks don't mean shit. I am very salty at how these games listed don't even get some kind of acknowledgement. The games nominated have repeat nominations plus there is a big section dedicated for e sports and influencers. That award show is a giant joke where these people go to sniff each other's asses instead of properly awarding and appreciating video games.

The awards are a joke man. I'm happy for the devs who do win, but there are so many great games that don't even get any recognition because they aren't 'popular' with the cool kids.

Pagan Online review - A proper refreshment the ARPG genre needed | AltChar

Pagan Online is a jump-start the future ARPGs need. The game changes some of the fundamental genre mechanics and makes a fantastic gameplay loop out of them, followed by a vast amount of loot that is admittedly not that good at times.

Pagan Online PC Review- Watch out for Perun's Arrow | Thumb Culture

"There have been a few big Action RPG releases recently and more notably Warhammer: Chaosbane and of course everything will get compared to THE ARPG, Diablo 3. However, this one, on the outside, feels a little different." Stu N @ Thumb Culture
