This is ridiculous... Can't they just give us 2 disc, like RDR2 did? Shame on them. Not everyone have high speed internet...

Codewow2299d ago

Discs can’t read data fast enough. That’s why you’re forced to install nearly all of the game onto your drive.

BrettAwesome2299d ago

So what? If there's two discs, you won't have to download nearly as much

Codewow2299d ago

it’s one of the reasons games can’t maintain 60fps.

ocelot072299d ago

Wait what? Are you seriously saying that because both PS4 and Xbox have a Blu-ray drive (which I agree has slow read data) it's one of the reasons they can't maintain 60fps in some games?

Did I read that correctly?

Codewow2298d ago

Yeah that was a pretty bullshit response. I don’t know why I said that.

That's not how it works.

This is not additional data, it's replacement data.

Having two discs would change nothing. The game fits on the disc, it just needs to be mostly replaced in order to work correctly.

What I find funny is that people who download the game will have this all in advance and be ready to go at 12:01 on release day, while all the "physical is better" people have to wait for their disc to install, and THEN still wait for this update to download.

Kornholic2299d ago

Physical is still better without a doubt. Good luck trying to sell your game. Have fun with the higher digital prices, as well.

Physical is not only better, it's also way cheaper.

It’s about having to DL that large of a file to begin with. People with good fast internet (like yourself I assume) don’t seem to understand that there are people with data caps, 5-15mbps internet speeds, or worse as only option depending where they live.
For those people having that large of a patch could mean they will have to wait a couple days or more before they can even play the game they bought.
I understand that this patch is replacing data already on disc but if you need to change 90GB from time you’ve gone gold till day one then there is a huge problem.

ocelot072298d ago

@gam3r_4_lif3 don't be lying to the Xbox one s owners now it's not nice.

UnHoly_One2297d ago

@matrix

Not defending the fact that they need to replace the whole game with a patch. I agree that is awful.

I was just saying that having two discs would not solve the problem. The game was on the disc before this patch existed.

They don't need two discs, they need one disc that is actually up to date and correct. lol

I remember PS3 fanboys talking mad shit to Xbox fans for having multiple disk...

Evolve2299d ago

Yeah, that was a decade ago. Now we're talking mad shit to Xbox fans for having no games to put it on a disk...

shiva12299d ago (Edited 2299d ago )

@ Evolve

Xbox is going digital... Next decade sony too. Now either get that 100gb patch or surf twitch for division 2 and burn that 100gb elsewhere.

gam3r_4_lif32298d ago

@Eolve this game is on a disc on xbox and runs better and takes up less space, so it sucks to be you

Sonyslave32299d ago

Damn might have to delete some fame for this game. The game by it self is 100gb plus the day one patch is about 90gb geez.

C-H-E-F2299d ago

You do know that patches replace old data with new data, for example maybe 10-15gb of the 90gb will increase the size of the game.

ILostMyMind2299d ago

He will have to download the 100GB before installing anyway.

MetroidFREAK212299d ago

Basically installing the game digitally with the disc being the key to unlock it lol... Either way if that turns out to be false is a big yikes from me

DrumBeat2299d ago

Tom Clancy's The Decision.

Glad I have a nice, fat external.

kingPoS2298d ago

Yea, I sit a matching white 4tb ext right behind my ps4. Oddly enough, the external runs games even faster than the 1tb 7200 internal I installed a while back.

The Division 2: Battle for Brooklyn DLC Launches

Time to gear up and save the day as the latest DLC for The Division 2 is here.

HectixRose28d ago

Haven't touched division 2 in 4 years but this dlc brought me back, still astonished by the graphics of this game and the attention to detail. Brooklyn dlc map is content packed with decent about of collectibles and side activities. Thinking of getting the premium pass, because I'll be doing 100% dlc completion.

Garethvk27d ago

That is good to know. I played through the game and all DLC until about a year ago. It glit he'd after an update and the only support offered was delete and I stall again. So that derailed my enthusiasm.

Great game but think we are ready for D3 now

The age of stretching out a game with new content and seasons has been upon us for a while. Sports games seem to be the only yearly releases now.

The Division 2 Celebrates Six Years

The Division 2 celebrates year 6 with some interesting events.

GamerRN105d ago

Let's get Division 3 already

Garethvk104d ago

No kidding. Rumors that it is in production but so was the Free to Play one. What city do you think they will do? I am curious about L.A. but it does seem to focus on the East Coast. Boston would be interesting.
