Sekiro is brutal, beautiful, and FromSoftware’s friendliest game yet | Polygon

Immensely challenging but approachable, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice feels spectacular.

Fingers crossed it has a difficulty setting, I was looking forward to a challenge.

A few hardcore Souls fans have said Sekiro is probably harder than previous From Software games. I think by 'friendliest' they just mean that it has a more straight forward narrative with a voiced main protagonist, tutorials, the ability to pause and things like that. Not that the gameplay is any less challenging.

Hope you're right mate, it does look a little easy in the gameplay I've seen. But then again I haven't seen much variety as it's all been in the same areas.

Day 1 with a statue either way 🍻

MajorLazer2304d ago

Very pleased to know it does not and is apparently more difficult than previous games :D

My body is ready. Sekiro, MK11, and DMC 5 is all I need.

Multiple Soulsborne veterans have said it's the hardest game they played out of all of them yet. Friendliest more than likely is not referring to the difficulty of this game. Probably the accessibility and story are more streamlined than before.

Ah good ol polygon:.. Fromsoftware.. The creators of bloodborne, the souls game and I guess that's it, let's write an article... The million of older (not so difficult) games like ninja blade and tenchu senran etc.. from Fromsoftware, nah don't bother it would f*** up our wrong yet catchy headline..

Still looking forward to sekiro.. I hope it goes more into a tenchu/nioh direction

traumadisaster2305d ago (Edited 2305d ago )

In the first friggin sentence of the article is says BRUTALLLY DIFFICULT. So I don't know why there is question.

I can't even play these types of games anyway, so hopefully there is a difficulty slider of sorts.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Review

That may be a good thing, as it makes this game one of a kind. If you are a fan of Souls games or a borderline masochist, you will, without a doubt, love Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice because it is a masterpiece. It is a must-play for all hardcore gamers.

Hells yeah. Would love to see another really tight action focused title next. Be cool if he did something completely different, like a cyborg-ninja game.
