TSA writes: "Fimbulvetr – or as it’s more commonly known in English, Fimbulwinter – is three non-stop winters in a row, with not even a hint of an intervening summer in sight. For people in the modern world that would mean public transport so delayed it would never start again, lots of moaning on Twitter and we’d all have nipples sharp enough to carve ice sculptures. Fortunately Fimbul takes place in Norse mythology as opposed to reality, so all this snow is a good excuse for action, adventure and blood soaked violence."
Fimbul is an interesting game. There is some mythology associated with this tale as it takes place before Ragnarok. The game has a fun story and exciting graphics, but is this enough to make it stand out? Will gamers want to come back for more?
Gareth writes: "Fimbul takes you to the world of Norse legend with giant trolls, heroic warriors and beautiful snowy worlds. And that combination seems hugely appealing."
SXO: Zaxis have developed the foundations for a good game. It is an indie game, so you come to expect some imperfections. The world Fimbul is set in could have provided much more but as a 3-hour game, I feel it’s worth playing through. Hopefully, something can be done to improve the framerate which would massively improve the review score. Don’t come here expecting a Skyrim deep RPG but instead a chilled simple button bashing combat game set in a gorgeous Nordic Winter.
